Random thought- Road salt in lakes?

One place I fish has some highways running over it. I wonder does all the road salt in winter get in the lake and damage the fish?

Considering that all the salt placed on roads where I live ends up in the lake and Minnetonka is considered a top fishery for multiple species...I'd say the chances of damaging the fish to be fairly low.

Adding rock salt to a bait tank helps keep shad alive much longer

Yes, it all ends up in rivers, lakes, and other waterways. How much it affects fish and fishing varies, but it's not good. Bass are very tolerant to salinity and contaminants. Other fish, (and amphibians) not so much.
