Not sure if this is unique to St. C but pretty much every other category on their site shows the same.

They are backlogged most likely after being closed for a few months and also a supply chain issue, both due to Covid. However, they are consistently supplying their distributers with rods. They've prioritized getting their rods into stores over getting their own website stocked.

I recently reached out to St Croix regarding this very topic.

I sent this first week of March

"Good Day, I am a staunch St Croix fan and have been for many years. I am looking to update my gear and want to replace my current arsenal of casting & spinning rods with the new Legend Tournament Bass line. But the ENTIRE line of rods continues to be out of stock ? What is up with that ? Any idea when you'll be able to restock these rods ? It's very frustrating."

They replied with this . . .

Thank you very much for choosing St. Croix and allowing us to partner with you in your angling adventures. We have received your email regarding the availability of our rods.  There has been an increase in 8M anglers creating excessive demand in the fishing industry.  So far, we have increased production 67% since June 2020.  We are improving our process and working hard to improve product availability, but demand remains very high right now.

We recommend you contact our Customer Center when you are ready to place an order.  Even if the specific model is not available we will be able to place on back order, so you can receive as soon as available.  The Customer Center is open every weekday for your convenience from 8 am. - 4 pm., central time at 1.800.826.7042

Thank you.

Might see how it goes with these new Victory rods.

I may go that way instead.

For what it's worth, I used SC's excellerator program to get a new Legend Glass back in Jan. They told me it wouldn't be in stock until the end of March.  I got it well before their estimate.

I'm expecting 2021 to be similar to 2020 as far as gear availability so this doesn't shock me.

Things will take a while to catch up, especially if companies were shuttered for a while.  I was astounded reading about how much production it takes to meet demand of any product on a statewide basis, let alone national/global.  I bet it’s years.

It's not just rods. I hunted all over for a Curado 200 pgK. I thought I found one, but got the dreaded backorder notice. I doubt I see that reel before July. As I looked about, I noticed more and more common reels where out of stock.

They are on backorder at the moment unfortunately. We had to shut down for about 5 months due to covid19 and the wildfires last year. We are working as fast as we can to get caught back up Tyler. You should start seeing them more readily available in the next few months.

Best regards

This is an email sent to me by gloomis about their nrx rods being out of stock globally. I reached out last week to confirm they had no intention of canceling the line.

That’s what I am expecting too.  Glad I made my rod purchases and other big ticket fishing purchases Last Nov-February.

I had a feeling somebody would put the garmin echo maps on sale.  However, I didn’t want to be caught with my pants down looking for a deal when the stimulus checks dropped

I ordered a rod at 4 pm EDT on Monday and it came before noon today. Whew, less than 3 days, IN to VA. I never even got a shipping notice or a tracking number. But here came the little postal vehicle backing down the drive.

But yeah, things have been in short supply. I'd been looking for a new crankbait rod for a couple of months - on line - and got tired of reading reviews while waiting on Loomis and Megabass. I thought about getting another Conquest casting rod for the heck of it and they were scarce too. Then Friday I got an email about a Dobyns sale and thought about it over the weekend and figured what the heck, nearly everyone loves the Champion 705CB, And I had almost $20 in old store credits from a couple of years ago. Icing on the cake.

Okay, everybody was right. This is a really nice rod. I might do a little light sanding to contour the cork a little more, but the action is great.

Weather forecast for tomorrow - 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40. But it'll be warm.
