Fisher0517 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Would black and blue jigs work in 1-4 feet clear water but mostly murky? Quote

Fisher0517 Posted March 19, 2021 Author Posted March 19, 2021 It’s murky but probably 2 or 3 feet you can see clearly Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 19, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 19, 2021 Sure, why not! Any color could work at any time in any colored water. The conventional thinking is in those conditions is to use something lighter. Im sure you know that because you asked the question. The best advise is to don’t get hung up on “conventional” thinking. Try it, and be ready to change up if you know there’s fish and not getting bit. Thats the only way you’ll know. Personally, I put more consideration into size and action than color. Mike 2 Quote
BigAngus752 Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Yes. Black/blue jig and trailer combos can work at any time. I've had blk/blue football jigs catch fish after fish in bright sun in late summer on rip rap in the clearest water of the year. Give it a try when you feel like it. If the fish don't bite then switch to a green pumpkin combo. 1 Quote
BBuck Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I've found that black and blue works in any water. If not, throw green pumpkin. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 Black/blue seems to be very productive jig color but not my favorite. Motor oil or green pumpkin with red flake has been my most productive but gin clear waters here. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 20, 2021 Super User Posted March 20, 2021 I was tuning some baits earlier and caught a bass on a purple and yellow skirted spinnerbait with red/orange blades (with black accents) in really clear (8-10 ft vis) water. Fish don't own color C-lectors, Any color can work in any water vis. Quote
TriStateBassin106 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 2 to 3 feet water clarity? It sounds like your dealing with slighty stained water. Black n blue jigs will work best on overcast days but try green pumpkin or some kind of light colored craw pattern. PB&J also works well in that. Quote
