Super User ChrisD46 Posted March 18, 2021 Super User Posted March 18, 2021 I have narrowed my search for a line which best compliments the fall rate of a weightless Senko on a bait cast set up : The use of #12 lb. Fluorocarbon line appears to be "about right" for either a T-Rigged or Wacky Rigged 5" Senko's ideal fall rate. *Therefore , my key question is to narrow down which #12 lb. FC line has the best characteristics for using a weightless Senko 5" in a Reservoir with clear , open water with rock and isolated brush piles . Currently, my list of #12 lb. FC line for weightless Senkos are : #12 lb. Seaguar InvizX #12lb. Seaguar AbrazX #12 lb. Sunline Sniper #12 lb. P-Line Ultimate FC #12 lb. Sufix Advance FC #12 lb. Berkley Trilene 100% FC The characteristics of a FC needed for a weightless Senko (5") are going to be different than that of say fishing a football jig for instance - perhaps more closely aligned with using FC line for a jerk bait ... The above said , what is your current favorite FC line dedicated to fishing a weightless Senko on a bait cast set up ? ... Thanks in advance ! Quote
Super User ATA Posted March 18, 2021 Super User Posted March 18, 2021 why Tatsu is not in your list? After so many research and asking members here, I choose 10lb test Tatsu for same application. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 19, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 19, 2021 Sniper or Tatsu. Mike Quote
Super User FishTank Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 Tatsu followed by Invizx. Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 Seaguar or Sunline whatever type you prefer. This is the 1 technique that bright colored braid with a leader using the line presentation that works better then straight FC. The bright floating braid where it enters the water while the Senko sinks acts like a visual strike indicator. Tom 3 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 19, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 19, 2021 InvisX, picked up a 1000 yard spool for cheap that works well for those if I want to use a straight fluoro. Quote
walleyecrazy Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 I use mostly Seaguar AbrazX. To me it offers the best balance of abrasion resistance and being soft enough not to effect the baits action. Quote
rangerjockey Posted March 19, 2021 Posted March 19, 2021 Any of those would work. I personally use Tastsu , Sniper and Invisx all good lines. One isn't going to catch a fish the others wouldn't have. I think it's much more important where you throw or pitch that Senko than the line it's attached to. 1 Quote

A lot of folks gut hook bass on wacky senkos because they don't know the fish is there. Quote

If I was crawling a T-Rig soft plastic on the bottom or fishing a Football Jig - then yes (#15 lb.) Tatsu would be hard to beat . 9 hours ago, WRB said: Seaguar or Sunline whatever type you prefer. Tom *That is my spinning set up - just looking to try straight FC on my bait cast outfit for a little something different plus to eliminate a bit of the "bow" that floating braid forms on a sinking bait . 1 Quote

Super User NHBull Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 I use braid to leader for weightless senko as I need the visual assistance. Of your list...Invisx, if it was me, tatsu Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 From that list, I would pick Invisx due to it being supple but not super stretchy. That being said, I use the slightly stiffer 12lb Sniper on my mostly-dedicated senko rod because I like to buy line in bulk and Sniper fits my other needs better. Quote
Super User Deleted account Posted March 19, 2021 Super User Posted March 19, 2021 My favorite FC for weightless t-rigs is 10 lb BG. Quote
