old Cabelas brand Fishermans Series™ Go-To Jerk Minnow

which soft plastic jerkbait resembles the old fishermans series go to jerk minnow by cabelas? havent been able to find em the last few years and im getting down to the end of mine. got some "big bites baits" ones but the plastic is too scented and oily for my liking but looking for a similar round fork tail that gives it the action on a keel weighted hook that im looking for. any ideas? pour my own?

Yeah, not familiar with that one. I googled it and a skinny dipper looking thing showed up. Is that the one? cause if it is, then Skinny Dipper.

I am familiar with them. They were very close to the Zoom Fluke.

When BPS bought Cabela's they discontinued the bait you are looking for.

 

 If you haven't tried the Cabela's Swim Minnow swimbait, you should.

It's one of the best swimbaits out there that no one uses. Great colors and reasonably priced.

these, big bite baits and the cabelas go to series all seem to have the same mold. i just dont care for it to be packed full of anise oil

You might just want to stick with Big Bite. Juice Baits Co. has some $4/6pk. Before shipping. Pretty sure you’re not willing to pay that price 

Check Barlows Tackle in their house brand. They may have something that is better priced than Juice. Can’t promise it isn’t covered in anise. Not sure if Big Bite makes the soft plastics and sells them or they buy from someone else and add their Big Bite Juice scent.

perfect! i now have three orders of sevral hundred jerk minnows on the way! il update with what ones i find to match the drop and action and skipping of the last ones.

 

now to find a new keel weight/beast hook/ frog rod...

and after a few halibut trips and gallons of anise oil thats why i cant stand them being scented.. atleast not with that

Both Cabelas and BPS hand lures (rids, reels, line) made by name brand companies private labeled. A few years ago both Cabelas and BPS went to off shore knock offs to reduce cost.

It depends on the era your soft were made.

well im thoroughly upset so far. it turns out by my judgement that big bites baits and scheels so far get at least their 5" jerk minnow supplied by the same source. the fork tail part of the mold is offset lower than the rest of the back end.. by about 1cm making the bait inoperable. at first i thought it was some new design but the mold isnt lined up correctly and ruins the bait on both. will find a way to update pics tomorrow. i thought i was going crazy but it is their main suppliers fault.. im suprised theyd sell these they obviously have no QC or do not care at all about customers and thats why ive posted so many fluke questions

the four inchers in bought are perfectly aligned.. when they did the mold for the 5" they are ducked up across several brands with the tail of the mold sitting ~1.5 cm down with a flat offset from the rest of the mold like they did not align it properly. i just want to fish a fluke on a dead drop vmc with a 7'2h poison and 50 lb braid give me a break..

I know it’ll be a pain but maybe you can boil some water and dip the tails to bend them back. Sorry to have steered you the wrong way

That is correct. Can you post a pic of the issue? I'm not quite following based on your description
