That's what I expect and tried to get ahead of it some this year.  I went out last night and either my main producing pond has been wrecked by the farmer ripping stuff out or the bass are still deep.  I was hoping to catch some that are moving up but it was so bad I left early which has never happened.  Got me worried.

Yeah, can be feast or famine. The fronts and wind have been good to me, I'd like a little more rain, and a cooling trend to hold water in the 50s, but I don't think it's going to happen, but you never know.

Dogwoods started blooming last week here in OKC.  The problem has been the weather won't stay constant.  So the bass keep pushing up and dropping back.  Depending on the lake, the spawn is somewhere between in the early stages, or weeks away.

Unfortunately, the lakes are more crowded than usual this year for some reason.  And me, in my kayak, can't really claim the good spots.  By the time one opens up, and I start heading there, a power boat beats me to it, every time.  I've talked to a few anglers at the dock this year, and everyone seems to be complaining about it.  Who knows where it all came from?  But no one is happy about it.

It's been going on since mid February.  Even on cold, wet, windy days I've seen a lot more people out on the lake than normal.  Then again, I have been hopping around the local lakes based on water temperatures, so maybe a lot of other people have been too, and I just keep picking the same lake as everyone else.

Just to let everyone know, in the greater Richmond, Virginia geographical area the dogwoods blossomed this week.  Using this date, you can figure out when your dogwoods will start to bloom.

Here in the western part of Virginia we've had several nights in the 30's and lots of rain.

Will finally get out Thursday.

Now you tell me! I've been crop-dusting your neighborhood for decades with cottonwood seeds. I thought I was doing you a favor.

They say when the dogwood's start blooming the white bass are running

Well that is definitely correct, I saw a big wad of them spawning today , splashing around in tight circles in the shoals

The godawful Bradford Pears are blooming in NJ... bass are feeding up for sure. Every one I've caught is chunky.

They're pretty trees but I hope every single one of them around here gets obliterated in a storm.

I got 3 dogwood trees in my yards. They are still bare. Blooms are there but not open yet.

I didn’t get a pic of the dogwoods in bloom here around Lake Guntersville, but trust me, they are bloomed. I did however get a pic of this old girl…

Scale batteries were dead dangit…
