I’ve been debating on trying one of these rods for about a year now and noticed that my local store has the 7’4” heavy in stock and it’s rated from 3/8oz-2oz. Curious if anyone has any experience with this rod and what you find it to be good for!

I have it. Too stiff for a 1/2 ounce jig. Not bad for 3/4 football jigs in 30' of water. Would be a fantastic punching rod for 1oz or heavier. I have Loomis NRX rods and feel as if the Adrena is as sensitive.

Get the Medium Heavy unless you will ALWAYS throw 3/4 or heavier.

thank you. So I use the glx 894c as my main jig rod and throw 3/8-5/8oz jigs on that particular rod. What I’m looking for specifically is a bit more a multi purpose rod.

5/8-1 1/4oz punching rod, 1/2-1oz t-rigs, Carolina rigs, whopper plopper, and I’d like to try the Alabama rig this year.

Not to many I guess?

I have used this rod a fair amount to fish the large whopper ploppers and it’s outstanding. Large spinnerbaits would be great and possibly some types of Alabama rigs. Heavy swinging football jigs could possibly work good as well but haven’t tried that yet.

I have used the 7'4 Adrena for 1oz football heads targeting deep rock walls, I also use it  for 1-1.5oz title shots in heavy weeds, the rod excels in these presentations.

Not wanting to hijack this thread but I'm looking at this rod also. I would like to use it for 3/8 -1/2 oz chatterbaits and up to 3/4 oz lipless. Any thoughts for those uses?
