Fisher0517 Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 I have never caught a bass and I’m really eager to. I’ve tried but I need to keep trying. I read about spinner baits and they sound great what’s everyone’s favorite color for them? Also does anyone have any tips? 1 Quote
Dens228 Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Mostly a shad color with two silver or a silver and a gold willow blade. Keitech 3.8 Impact Fat trailer. That's probably 80% of my use. The other 20% would be a white/chartreuse skirt. 1 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 I like white, chart green or combos of these colors. Black can be good also. Type in " spinnerbait " in the search bar here. Lots of good reading there. Good Luck! 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 For 30 years my favorite was a single gold Colorado with black skirt. Now one lake I fish often I prefer the light colored ones in first picture, Lake Chapala I have luck with dark colored skirts in second picture. Dark colored ones crushed them at Chapala a few days ago. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 White or chartreuse/white, chartreuse/white/blue Tip: Get a 1/4 oz white spinnerbait with 1 gold willowleaf & 1 silver Colorado. Throw it at every target you see 5 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 White is probably my favorite but black was very effective at night last season for me. 1 Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 War Eagle Spot Remover. A 3/8oz double willow is a good place to start. Get a good feel for it and branch out from there! 3 Quote
huZZah Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 White or black. Day or night. That’s as complicated as I get with them. I’m more diverse with trailers. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 See Catt’s post. Tip: for additional action, add a five inch single tail grub in white or chartreuse. 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 White, white / chartreuse, or black. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 I throw bright whites and chartreuses' until the spawn . Shortly after that I go to duller baitfish colors .The bass really get hammered in the spring with spinnerbaits ,so I get more bites with muted colors in the warmer weather . 2 Quote
Super User Munkin Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 Whitish/shad colored with double silver willows. Night is solid black with a black Colorado blade. Allen Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 I also like white or white/chartreuse, but if I'm fishing more stain water where the main forage is bluegill, I like this guy. 5 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 Maybe I'm weird, but I I like gold and copper blades with dark skirts in clear water. I always prefer some color in the flash when I'm fishing waters that have mostly bluegill, other sunfish, and yellow perch forage. I fish the whites, chartreuse and silver blades in darker/murkier water. 2 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 White or black for me also. But I’m throwing very lite spinnerbaits nothing over 3/16 oz. I guess you can call them micro size similar to my jigs. Quote

Super User NorthernBasser Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 That particular spinnerbait is made by Revenge. It's rather heavy (1 1/4 oz). They do have a 3/8 and 1/2 oz. in a willow/Colorado. I was more using that pic as a reference for a bluegill color w/double gold willows. Siebert's has a nice variety of bluegill colors, but I don't think you can get gold blades. Maybe you can if you contact him. Quote
