I ended up buying a shimano sahara

I have one that I bought for my son-in-law and will be fishing with it this weekend.

Feels like a fine reel in the price range. I think you did well.

Yes I have been using $50-$100 shimano spinning reels for years. Always say I’m gonna try something else but usually stay with shimano ?‍♂️

I think you'll like the Sahara. I bought one last year and it's worked out good. Smooth feel, and good drag.

I have a Shimano Sienna 2500, and Daiwa Revros LT2000 and LT2500. The Sienna is nice for a $ reel but the Revros are IMO truly nice reels for the money. I think I paid $49.00 for each. Smooth, quiet, nice drag and looks good as well. I’ve caught a few 4-5 lb bass on them with zero issues.

I love Shimano but IMO Daiwa has them beat when it comes to budget reels and its not even close.  Once you get into the 200$ range then Shimano has the edge.

I fished it the last two days putting a few fish to 3 1/2lbs on it and am very happy with it. Good line management, smooth, and decent drag

I've been using the Daiwa Revros reels for a few years now and really been impressed with them. They've beaten out the Pflueger President as the best bargain priced spinning reel in my lineup and have been replacing them as the old blue reels have been dying off.

I've got a Daiwa Eliminator that I like a lot too if you want something a little more refined.

*Daiwa Revros or Daiwa Exceler - however if Bluebasser86 is having such good success with the Revros , I'd use the money saved over the Exceler on a good spool or braided #10 lb. #15 lb. main line and smile !
