Just wow. So much fail here and something I'd expect to be from a person who just bought their first boat, not an experienced pro. Glad he's okay... fortunate he didn't kill himself or someone else as he tried to take that inside corner to pass when there could have easily been a boat coming the other direction.

Operating on the edge, going faster and faster, regardless of the conditions or the limitations of a rig or it's operator until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.

It's only a matter of time . . .

Same decision made here by the same operator.

Seen it many, many times.

I have never made a list of people I refused to ride in a boat with.

I have one name on that list now.

Double wow.

What may be more incredible is that seemingly nothing happened to his rig either.

I see he shut his comment section off. Gee I wonder why?

So you’re saying this is the same guy in both videos?

Yup - it's from his channel.

@A-Jay Remember when you posted a video of a boat that almost sank?  He said the cap separated from the hull.  That doesn't just magically happen.

Some of these guys beat the livin' daylights out of their boats. It's full-throttle and steer, regardless of conditions.

I hear Ya @Glenn

You'll never see me doing it.

I may have used up all my 'luck' saving other folks.

Now, I got nothing but time.

He just took the video down ~

Surprised he loaded it up in the first place.

Looks like the video got pulled down too. I didn't get to see it unfortunately.

Drives his boat like my BIL, it's either off, or the pedals to the floor. Only one way to go and that's directly to the destination in a straight line, no working around shorelines to go with the waves or a more favorable direction, no we're slamming full speed into these suckers and shortening our spines a few inches.

The fact that he’s had two incidents and he posted both of them gives me the impression that he doesn’t take these seriously and I think he’s looking to just cash in off my his stupidity. He first disabled the comment section and now took the video does has me thinking he wasn’t getting the attention he was seeking. I’m glad it’s blowing up in his face but I doubt it’ll really change his thinking on the whole situation.

That’s twice now he’s put other people lives at risk especially his coangler in the first video. If he wants to play Evil Knievel and launch himself into trees that’s fine with me, but risking other peoples lives is no joke. The guy needs to be banned from tournament fishing at the very least.

I drive pretty fast, and I operate in rough water. This guy has a death wish. Jeez.

He’s what we call a “point and shoot” driver.  Roughest ride I ever had was with a PWT (Professional Walleye Tour) pro who offered to take me out on Lake Michigan to run some planer boards and drag some crawler harnesses.  We had about a 30 mile run to where he was fishing.  This was in a Ranger 621 Fisherman.  He pulled the waypoints up on his graph hammered down and never turned the wheel one time.  Wind was blowing 10-15 and there was 3 foot rollers.  I literally had blisters on my back from bouncing in the seat.  I have been going to St Clair for 17 years, I have run some rough water but that was the worst ride I ever had and it was in a boat designed for it.

Side note, the guy in the video totaled that Ranger and there’s some serious discussion as to whether or not he had his kill switch attached.

The primary "safety mechanism" for every firearm, vehicle or machine ever invented, is located in the exact same place---between your ears!

Good example of a series of mistakes compounding.  Had that happened in open water he likely would have recovered from the hook and been fine after regaining control...But he got himself in a situation with zero margin for error and Murphy came calling.

Glad he's OK and I'm sure he's learned a lesson for the future.  Hopefully seeing the vid will be a learning experience for others too so they might avoid getting into a situation like that themselves.

Crossing wakes that close to other boats at WOT is dangerous enough, but trying to do it while turning?  This is what happens. You just can't do that at WOT without hooking.

Trim down, slow down, get more hull in the water, and let the "V" in the hull "cut" through the waves, and you'll have a better go of it.  There's a bit more to it than that, but it's a start.

There are other things wrong in this vid, but wanted to call out the big one.

There's a big difference between "steering" a boat and "driving" a boat.

What he tried to do couldn’t have been done in a car let alone a boat.

He definitely wasn’t in the same boater’s safety class I was in. Doesn’t look familiar at all.
