Quarry Man Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 I have a Humminbird Helix 7 MSI ... G3N graph on the front of my boat. It is hooked up to the transducer connected to the bottom of my trolling motor, It is the same transducer that I bought the boat with. It is also connected to a gps/di graph at the console via a cable. The gray does not show the depth properly anymore. Im not sure what happened to it. Any ideas? Quote

Russ E Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 You might want to check out the compatability of the universal transducer and the g3n graph. I had a similar issue with my shoot thru hull transducer. It worked fine with my g2 hummingbird. When I upgraded to a g3n the depth either would not read or read improperly. I had to upgrade my transducer to fix the problem. Quote

It sits right below the universal one which isn't plugged in as far as I can tell Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted March 12, 2021 Super User Posted March 12, 2021 My first suggestion would be try plugging it in directly between the transducer and the Helix 7. If it still don't read, if you have a friend or anyone with a Helix, plug your unit into their transducer. I can't tell you how many transducers I have ruined over the years running them on the TM. The cables develop problems either getting hit and damaged or just the wiring breaks inside with the constant flexing from raising and lowering the TM. You need to come up with another known good transducer somehow you can connect to your unit, or you can connect to your unit to it, to effectively diagnose the problem. Quote
