johnsmith Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 does monofilament affect the action of a jerkbait because of the stretch? also I know invisx is stretchier then sunline sniper so Im trying to decide which line to choose from Quote
Super User gim Posted March 11, 2021 Super User Posted March 11, 2021 I prefer some stretch using a jerk bait. It’s one of the few applications I still use mono for. 1 Quote

I use both types of line but on different rods. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 11, 2021 Global Moderator Posted March 11, 2021 A jerkbait isn't going to apply enough force to stretch your line during the course of a normal retrieve. 1 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 No, it won't affect the action unless you're using heavy line. Yes, it will affect the attitude of the bait during the pause. Finally, it will affect your hook-set. Quote

Emiliano Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 I usually go to very thin braid (8lbs-0,005inch) for jerkbaits, it lets the bait suspend perfectly. Braid offers no coils and stretch and so it allows to stay in contact more efficiently with the bait compared to mono. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 11, 2021 Super User Posted March 11, 2021 I like a braid to fluorocarbon set up on spinning gear to throw jerk baits. 1 Quote

Dens228 Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 I use 20 lb braid with a 4 foot or so mono leader. Quote
