so i know these things are killers on dropshot for smallmouth. i just bought 5 bags on line because thy are hard as heck to get. our lakes have both largemouth and smallmouth. drop shoting is a good tactic here in the summer but i dont know if i will be targeting smallmouth specificly. so my question is has anybody had much success with these on largemouth? i know they are kind of small but on a couple of our lakes that have clear deep water smaller baits work pretty well. what is your guys opinion on these if youve used them.

Personally I think both will hit them at anytime. I would think if the lake is predominantly a largemouth lake most likely ratio goes in favor of the largemouth. I fish a lake that has both. Primarily LM, I try to target the SM in areas that they are more likely to be but come up LM the majority of the time. Than again it’s probably me.

I haven't tried the flatworm yet but I have had success drop shotting a zoom finesse worm which is pretty close. I use a 1/0 ewg mostly.

Personally, I have never had much success using them from any company.
LM down here seem to like a little more action, at least for me anyway.

Don’t fish for SM

I picked up a half dozen bags during a local shop bait sale.  Normally I wouldn’t do that.  After reading all the pro staffer hype about this bait I still wasn’t convinced.  I wanted real credibility, some one who wasn’t paid to use or tout the bait, someone who fished a drop shot like a pro, someone who could articulate the merits of the product.  So when A-Jay wrote we better get us some, the gloves came off and the wallet was opened.

One of the twenty or so largemouth that were caught on green pumpkin flat worm this past weekend. Great lure. I'm a big fan of the strike king dream shot which the flat worm resembles quite a bit, however if the flatworm continues to produce like it has been.....

I might just have to buy stock in berkley

Among the hundreds of smallmouth I caught on them last summer, I also fished several areas that had a mixed bag of smallmouth/largemouth, and caught quite a few green bass as well. The flatworm does quite well for me on a drop shot around docks in clear water, especially if there isn’t a ton of heavy vegetation or brush mixed in.

thanks guys. sounds like they will be pretty good. I had no plan on buying them but when I saw they had a few packs in stock the bait monkey got me.
