Gladiator2569 Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Just bought a new boat its a dual console deep v and Im switching over my electronics. I was wondering how everyone was doing there setups.. I have Helix 9 up front and at console but it looks like it would barely fit on the dash but will take up most of it, causing a view blockage. Or the only place I can see putting it is on the side of driver but thats back kinba far.. Was just wondering what everyone else was doing about it.. Thanks for any help and some pics of your setups would be awesome!! Quote
Junk Fisherman Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 If you post a picture of your console we might be able to give you some ideas. 2 Quote
detroit1 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 My console Helix is mounted on a Ram mount. While fishing i can turn it to face me at the bow. ( i do have a cheap bow Garmin .) Quote
Gladiator2569 Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 I guess from what few Ive seen they are just putting where my old on is even though they are so much bigger they take up the whole windshield view I guess ya just look around it.. Quote
E-rude dude Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Ram mount with a long arm and too push it away from the windshield? those are tough boats to get big electronics at the console Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 Look at Bass Boat Technologies website and mounts. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 If your console is anything like my Lund, there is a glassed in piece of marine plywood underneath the console where the graph is mounted. RAM has a few different styles of mounts that might work for you with a larger graph. This one might work a little better than the standard RAM for your application either on the console or off to the side https://www.rammount.com/part/RAM-109HU Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted March 13, 2021 Super User Posted March 13, 2021 I have 2 Ram mounts for my bass boat and my problem with them is that in rough water it is very tough to keep them in position. They make a wrench that fits the handle that allows you to get them a little tighter but over the course of a day in rough water they can come loose. I actually have a rubber block that zip ties around the base of my console unit to protect the fiberglass if it bounces down and hits the boat. I’ve been tempted to go to a solid mount like a Kong for a while. Quote
