I forgot about them for a long time but fished them a lot last year .They produced some nice fish . I found some old stock large sized Beetles without the spinner at a mom and pop tackle store , added some spinners , put on a baitcaster and used them quite a bit .

They’re the best 87 cents I’ve ever spent. First bass my boy ever caught was on one with a black grub with chartreuse lines on it. Was pushing 5lbs, on a light powered spinning rod. Kiddo was grinning ear to ear. I’ve caught all kinds of species including some nice large mouth. Good times. I have all these cool new lures and want to fish with all of them, so they’ve been pushed aside.

I guess the most under utilized bait for me are suspending jerkbaits . I need to fish them more   , even in the warm months .

Me too.  The lizard went the way of the dinosaur when the brush hog hit the scene.

This is another one for me...I picked up 3 bags of zoom 6inch lizards for the spring this year. Haven't thrown one in maybe 10 years.

For me its the baby brush hog t-rigged (with weight). It was my go-to for years but I didn't use one at all last year.

I never stopped throwing it, and it has always produced year after year.

True to form wasn’t catching on Trig, jig, or spinner. So I put a Creme swim bait on. 1/4 oz.  Boom.

Sorry not a great pic but I’m balanced on rocks with 20-30 mph constant wind.

Is this is a striper? Not to be too obviously stupid but I wasn’t sure. Really fought hard too.
