I found some old stock large sized Beetles without the spinner at a mom and pop tackle store , added some spinners , put on a baitcaster and used them quite a bit . They’re the best 87 cents I’ve ever spent. First bass my boy ever caught was on one with a black grub with chartreuse lines on it. Was pushing 5lbs, on a light powered spinning rod. Kiddo was grinning ear to ear. I’ve caught all kinds of species including some nice large mouth. Good times. I have all these cool new lures and want to fish with all of them, so they’ve been pushed aside. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 8, 2021 Super User Posted March 8, 2021 I guess the most under utilized bait for me are suspending jerkbaits . I need to fish them more , even in the warm months . Quote

huZZah Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 True to form wasn’t catching on Trig, jig, or spinner. So I put a Creme swim bait on. 1/4 oz. Boom. Sorry not a great pic but I’m balanced on rocks with 20-30 mph constant wind. Is this is a striper? Not to be too obviously stupid but I wasn’t sure. Really fought hard too. Quote
