Super User MN Fisher Posted March 6, 2021 Super User Posted March 6, 2021 Most toothpaste (not the gel types) have a small amount of silica in them - think of it as micro-sand particles. A soft cloth, a bit of toothpaste, and you polish the metal. 1 Quote
Super User GetFishorDieTryin Posted March 6, 2021 Super User Posted March 6, 2021 Its like a pumice, put a little bit on the blade and scrub it with a toothbrush. Its good for getting rust stains off hard baits too. 1 Quote

Super User jimmyjoe Posted March 7, 2021 Super User Posted March 7, 2021 I use toothpaste to clean metal lures, and I use it to clean the guides on my rods after about a month of the Muddy Mississippi. I use any that has baking soda in it. Mind you, I don't go King-Kong-crazy with it though. jj Quote
