well done brother, it’s been almost as long for me, September of ‘98 in fact. and now that the spots have taken over around here it may never happen again.

Oh no! She’s not dead. I should have kept her in the net while the livewell filled. I’ve actually thought about this a lot. More trauma than she needed.

 

rest assured she swam away with no problem. I even got it on video.

What a fish!

 

honest question.  Setting the fish on the boat carpet like that;  don’t it jack the slime coat?

I believe that to be true. I usually try to aim for the decal in hopes that it might help. The hardcore conservationists would say to lip the fish and unhook it in the water.

 

Considering that 20 years ago that fish would have went into the frying pan had I caught it, I think I’ll live with myself for snapping a picture on the deck.

I fished with a fish biologists once.  He wets everything. Measuring board, net etc.   He threw water on the board on top of ice chest.  Just what he told me.   He said to do what I can.
