BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 17, 2021 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 17, 2021 I was at ICAST in Florida a few weeks ago. I understand a lot of people who also went got Covid as a result, including at least a dozen pros. But I didn't. I'm walking proof that the vaccine works. If I need to take a booster later, I say "Bring it". Whatever it takes to stop this enemy, I'm in. 7 3 Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted August 23, 2021 Super User Posted August 23, 2021 My dad has COPD and is in the high risk, pre-existing condition group. His dr recommended he get a 3rd shot and after some research by the pharmacist he was allowed to do so. It had only been 5 months or so since his first round of shots. He said the side effects for the third were more mild than the first 2. I will definitely be getting a third as soon as I'm able to. 5 Quote

Zippo Guy Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 My wife and I got our two shots as soon as they were available. Our oldest daughter got her two shots at that time, too. She has Crohns Disease and Angolonie Spondylitis and takes a well known and advertised drug for them. Her immune system is compromised and is in two Crohns trial studies at two major medical centers. Her follow up tests showed no viable vaccine in her system. She has received her third vaccination already and we are waiting to see some improvement. Our younger daughter and her husband got their first vaccinations when first available. He was in good health, maybe 10 pounds too heavy. Before he was able to get his second shot he started coughing and went to the emergency room. They admitted him and he died ten days later from Vivid. He left behind our daughter and two small boys at the age of 44. I'm sorry, but I don't understand what took some of you so long to get your vaccinations or why some of you plan on ignoring this disease. It won't go away by itself. 3 Quote

CrankFate Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Sorry for your loss. The deaths are real. I had an uncle die at 59, with 4 high school & college aged kids. Worst time to go. Another guy I know that was only 42 and in good health. Dead. My neighbor across the street’s wife. Dead. I also know quite a few others that were in the ICU for weeks, including a cousin. And then there are the ones with “long haul” Covid. Still not recovered after half a year. It’s no joke. I got shot # 3 yesterday, I was eligible since my BMI is 31.7, and I’ve been suffering from obesity ever since I was born ? This is the worst one yet. Within 15 minutes the injection site on my right shoulder started having severe pain when I try to raise my arm. My clothes are sort of hurting my skin where’ve there is any weight on my skin. But still, the vaccine reduces the infection rate by at least 90% - I work in a building that has several medical offices in it, so I’m not taking any chances. Just a week at home with the flu would create a terrible backlog for me. Quote

Sorry for your loss. This virus is true evil. As for your first daughter, that's not good to hear about her condition(s). Hopefully the booster can get her some much needed antibodies. My wife has ankylosing spondylitis also, as well as other disabling health issues such as asthma. Luckily she's had both initial Pfizer doses as well as the third booster shot. I'm glad she's been able to get those early as I don't think she would have faired well last year if she had gotten it prior to the vaccine coming out. 1 Quote

Super User Scott F Posted November 1, 2021 Super User Posted November 1, 2021 I’m 65 got my third shot of Pfizer a couple weeks ago exactly 6 months after my second the first day I was eligible. No side effects except for a sore shoulder that evening. Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted November 1, 2021 Super User Posted November 1, 2021 My wife and I both got our booster shots along with flu shots about three weeks ago. I just felt a little more tired for a few hours. We both got the Pfizer vaccine. Quote
Dirtyeggroll Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Joined the 3 shot club (booster) on Sunday. Fevered to 102, felt miserable and had to step out from work on Monday. That was not fun. Went home, took some acetaminophen and ibuprofen and slept from about 9-2 and felt much better. Glad that’s over. Quote
BayouSlide Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Two shots plus recent booster (all Moderna). No ill effects. ? Quote
