Well, it seems like my earlier prediction of June was incorrect. The Mrs and I were able to find appointments for both inoculations, the first shot is scheduled later this week. The location is over an hour drive but we’re happy to make the trip.

Mom got her second shot Friday. She is doing fine. NY made anyone 50+ eligible to get vaccinated Tuesday at 8am

Update: I’ve been running a temp for 20 hours now but am starting to feel better by the hour. What was a 2 degree temp overnight has been low grade all day. Still have some aches and a minor headache. I’m hopeful that by the morning I will be back to 100%. 
 

If you receive the J&J shot I would highly recommend allowing yourself a clean schedule the following day. I spoke to the clinic this morning and they said majority of people seem to feel bad for about 24 hours

After having my 59 year old uncle die, a friend who was only 42 die and then, in late January a neighbor across the street from me die from Covid, I got the vaccine. Got it March 15th, the first day I was eligible. People that live and work in NJ are now eligible if their BMI is over 25, that is nearly everyone (me included). I signed up on the 11th or 12th and was in on the 15th, the first day I was eligible. No problem except for pain at the injection site for 3 days. I didn’t even feel the injection, though. Waiting for the call for shot # 2.

Just want to clarify that this is not the drug that is associated with the blood clots, it is the AztraZeneca one, and it is not known whether the shot causes it or not (last I heard).

A coworkers Mom had Covid before Christmas and she still cannot smell or taste food. She asked during dinner if the sauce that she cooked tasted okay because she couldn't tell, and then started crying.

 

Food is one of life's greatest pleasures. I can't even imagine that.

I received dose #1 on Wednesday. Felt like a flu shot. No side effects. Second dose is April 15. Every person 16+ years old will be eligible starting on Tuesday in Minnesota.

My wife and I went Saturday and got our second shot of the Pfizer Covid vaccine. We felt extra tired and sleepy for a while but we are both doing okay now.

My wife got her second shot yesterday, my kids and I got Pfizer and my wife Moderna. So far all 4 of us have had no reactions.

Got my 2nd Moderna on March 10th.  102 Fever, chills and sweats the night I got the shot but was just tired the following day.  I'm ready for this thing to get over.  Was nice seeing family yesterday for Easter with all of us having been vaccinated now.

Same here.  2nd shot of Pfizer for my wife and I on 4/9.  She was fine after dose 1.  I had a headache the next morning and felt nauseous for the day but was otherwise fine.

I have a disabled sister I took to get her 1 shot J&J vaccine today. Hope she does okay with it.

I got the call for # 2 today. Going in next week. Getting it in my right arm this time. The only reaction I had was pain at the injection site. They were telling everyone to get it in their non dominant arm. I’m getting it in my right next time, because I sleep on my left side and that was not possible for the next 3 days after shot # 1.

Well the fiancé worked the whole day of her second dose, then went to the gym and yoga. The next day she hiked about 10 miles in the Smokies

I'm at about 24 hours after and I feel like I'm running a fever. Some chills and a little achy but overall not bad, not bad enough to stay home from work. My arm hurts way worse this time for some reason though.

Since this is the Covid thread and the vaccine thread....I just learned that someone in my office tested positive today. I just tested negative even though I talk to her a lot every day (and she never wears a mask). She has no symptoms and was tested during a regular checkup. Everyone else in the office is at least half vaccinated. It’s a small office of 7-8 people in pretty close contact. If no one else comes up positive, it’s at least nonscientific proof that these vaccines work.
