Both my parents, wife, and 93 year old grandmother have all been vaccinated too.  I'm still waiting.

I hope that this thread can stay civilized.

After reading the other thread I can see why.

Got my first shot. I'm only 53 but my job puts me on the list. Not putting my own health or that of others at risk. It's pretty simple, your odds of staying alive and healthy are much better with the shot.

I might be able to get my first one soon. I think I’m considered “essential” for one or maybe two of my jobs, and there are several surrounding counties that have extra doses we might be able to get

My wife is getting her second shot Easter Sunday.

Me? I'm not even a blip on the radar yet....Then again, I wasn't a blip 9 mos before I was born either.

Oh well, at least I'm consistent.

Second shot today. Feel slightly buzzed in the head. I think it's from the shot haha. Only been about 9 hours though.

Just between us, my farts are especially bad, I guess that's a side effect. Even the dogs left the room! "Don't blame us, we're in the kitchen!"

<Looks down> wow that was quick :)

We got shot number2 on Monday  ..I was fine after the shot, but  the next day my wife came down with chills and a 101 fever. She went to bed Tues night and woke up this morning as if nothing had happened.

We heard that could happen.  She is sensitive to meds and also feels the caffeine rush from a cup of coffee.

All is good now and we feel good about having the protection, even with a little inconvenience of the effects of the shot for her.

My Dad got his second shot yesterday. He is feeling a bit under the weather since but he says he will be fine.

He is skipping the green beer today.

A lot of people at my work getting the shot and getting sick. The side effects have put some otherwise healthy people out of commission for 2 weeks each now. Haven't had a positive Covid test in our facility for almost 2 months prior to the shots being given.

I got my first one, felt nothing. Hopefully I can get #2. I tried to schedule it on my phone last night and it was beyond confusing

Mrs Mike got her 2nd Tuesday and felt fine. But all day yesterday she felt a little under the weather.
This morning she’s back to her more jovial self. ?

I have an office full of people that have had both shots from Pfizer. No serious symptoms but a lot of sore shoulders and some tiredness 12-24 hrs after the shot.

Looks good.

I like to tell people about my experience mainly so they might feel better about getting theirs. Most people I know have had little to no symptoms, tiredness being the most common. My step-dad was pretty sick for a day. He's 80 and not in great shape.

I'm not changing my behavior but I feel a bit more comfortable now. Some of the stress and worry is gone.

My dad got both shots, and "felt tired" for about 4 days after the 2nd one.  My mother got both and didn't have any symptoms.  Both are in their 80's.

Maryland has gone to phase 2 but Virginia has not so I am still waiting.  Hearing some rumblings about the Moderna causing blood clots and actually had one friend post this morning about a close family friend getting the Moderna vax and passing away from a blood clot.  He is very, very upset.  Said she was in good health young and a swimmer.

Give a new drug - say a new vaccine perhaps - to tens of millions of people (billions) and you are guaranteed to see some rare but serious side effects.

Overreact to these things, and you'll pay a heavy price.

The interweb is full of negativity theses days, so let's focus on the positive outcomes and the path back to normalcy, rather than the rare exceptions....especially the friend-of-a-friend stories.

I had a good friend and coworker pass away yesterday from Covid. He was 52 with a daughter in high school and a son /daughter in law that had just given him his first grandson. Vaccine just came too late for him.

Got my first shot yesterday (pfizer) around lunch time. Only side effect was that I couldn't clean up dinner, run the dishwasher, or help put the kids to bed. But those side effects wore off by 9PM and I was perfectly fine watching Curse of Oak Island with some bourbon. :D

Just FYI for those who don't think they qualify. Category 1C Critical Infrastructure is pretty broad, and I think all states are in this phase since the Fed is. The company I work for is considered essential in MD, and my position in the finance department qualified me for 1C, I verified this directly from the Deputy Secretary of Public Health Services in MD. I pre-registered under 1C from MD's COVID site, and I got the text to confirm my two shots about a week later.
