I got my first square bill and spinnerbait ones of the year yesterday. Nice not to have to crappie fish for bass. It's about to get good.

I'm in northern Illinois and it's looking like I'll have my kayak on the water next weekend!

Doesn't matter if it snows, just as long as the ice melts.

Well that all depends where you fish, on the banks of some of the spots I fish.. if there is snow you have as good of a chance of going for a swim as catching a fish...done it not fun. This time of year those are spots I target.

My forecast looks the same here in Albany NY. Cant wait to see the small lake I go by everyday to be unfroze. The hudson already is open water and I threw a few casts in it but I am really waiting for the lakes/ponds to get the new kayak out!  I figure by the 16th-17th the ice will be mostly gone in the lower elevations.
