I've been seeing more and more pros (KVD, Swindle) touting fluorocarbon for buzzbait fishing. I've always thought the denser line would keep the buzzer from staying on the surface. They so no, and that it has less stretch than mono for better hook sets on long casts. Braid is good for hook sets on long casts too, but can foul around the trebles, or is unforgiving and fish can come unbuttoned as they near the boat.

Hadn't really considered flouro for buzzbaits before - anyone tried it and had good/bad luck?  I plan to start rigging with new line soon and my buzzbait rod is empty...

Uh nope, and the one time I did it because I used the rig I had with me, it worked just as bad as you would think...

Never used fluoro for buzzbaits. I've always used 12-15# mono/copoly. But a few years ago I switched mostly to straight 40# braid when throwing buzzbaits, and I really like it.

Fluoro works fine for me.  High speed reel and rod tip parallel to water or slightly elevated will keep the lure up regardless of line type.  Just my experience.

Always used mono for the buzzy baits. Not inclined to switch to fluro.

No cause floro sinks. And my braid always gets fouled. I use mono.

If your line is on the water with a buzzbait, your buzzbait is sinking already.

FC affects topwaters like poppers and walking baits, not baits like buzzbaits and whopper ploppers.

Yeah I just meant I don’t see the point of a more expensive line. Should have said that. Just mono for buzzbaits and shallow spinners for me.

Since I tried Defier  Armilo, I have been using less FC, especially with buzz baits

Seems like it would be a waste of money to put expensive fluoro on my buzzbait rod when I don't get any of it's benefits and can use a cheaper mono or copolymer instead.

It won't hurt a thing . You've got the bait pulled tight with very little line on the water and if if you pause it it's going to sink no matter what line your using.
