Does a duo lock negatively impact the action of a floating a original rapala? I hate tying the rapala knot and was going to try a small duo lock

In my experience no. I use snaps on everything with trembles and have for many many years

I always tied directly to Rapala with a improved clinch knot in the 50’-60’s with 6 lb mono. Gate loop knots!

Should be ok as long as it is sized accordingly. I use split rings on the #9 and bigger ones. The smaller ones I tie a uni and leave it with a small loop.

This is for the Finnish ones, the Emerald Isle and Eastern European ones don't know, cause i don't use.

No, I use a snap on the larger baits.  On the smaller baits I tie direct.

They work great with the correct size snap. Stay away from the standard VMC duo-lock snap. they open up in the smaller size very easily.

Touch locks are good though.

Not in my experience as long as it is an appropriate size. They can also be used on Zara spooks to make them easier to “walk.”
