Headed out to portsville pond just outside Bethel, DE for a few hours. Water clarity was stained from the recent rains and water temp was rising. Managed to catch a few with buddy, we were throwing a rattletraps and chatterbait (slow on bottom) all over the stumps and sunken logs that litter the pond. Overall was a good day ended up with 9 total with my buddy catching 3 and myself with 6 even without any nice fish I haven't been out this early in years. For some reason the images wont load even though they fit the criteria.

Way to go. Eastern MD and DE ponds tend to turn on earlier for some reason. Caught a spawned out pickerel thereabouts yesterday, that is usually the sign to start bass fishing in earnest. I've eaked out a handful of LMB this month, but I'm sure it's about to get good.

Thanks! I agree with the ponds turning on earlier than others. I mostly fish ponds earlier in the year then head to rivers for spawn and summer. Once I fix my tilt/trim issue I will definitely be hitting up the nanticoke, choptank, pocomoke, and hopefully the upper bay.
