It turns them into crackheads and I'm more than happy to be their dealer.

The 3" 1/2oz is the 5" Senko; the 3/8oz jig/spinnerbait/chatterbait; the 1/2oz lipless; i.e. "all around"

I've got a couple 1/2oz to try this year. If they are even half as good as everybody says I will have a box full by next fall.

Fish the 1/2 oz a bit near the end of last season.

It's a pretty small bait all things considered.

Sort of like the NED rig of swimbaits.

Attracted a lot of little fish of several species including brown bass.

Expect to throw it around some early this coming spring

at some of the mutants here.

A small tube works early on them so perhaps the Dark Sleeper could play too.

We'll see.

I bought two last spring and never got them wet.

I bought two more this spring in 1/2 oz and promise myself to try them in a little deeper water in some gin clear quarries I fish.

Don’t get the hype on this one- small and overpriced.  I’d rather buy a pack of Keitech or rage swimmers

What?

Not a whole lot of lures going for $6. I just wanted to know if anyone had tried the

bait.  I just went ahead and bought a couple, I'll see for myself.

Have you even used them?

It’s just that it’s $6 for ONE rubber bait- if a pike gets a hold of them it’s gone and there are lots of pike around here..

You posted the bait and asked for comments?

There it is, context.  Makes total sense now.

That said, if I had all the money back from lures I've lost to walleye and alligator gar, I'd have a nice little nest egg by now. LOL!

Idk why- but I’m okay with break offs... most lures won’t be totally useless after one pike, but I think these could be.  At least when I buy a pack of keitechs and they eat them I get a handful of backups

I've got one and used it for a fair bit last year. Overall, I give it poor marks for performance in and around vegetation, which really limits it's usefulness to me. I've used it in a few more appropriate areas but haven't caught anything.

Any comments?

I keep a box full of them in stock in a range of sizes and colors, 'cause when they're keyed in on them it's on. They're great here from ice out until the weeds choke us out, then I put them away. Not a bait for throwing around wood. You'll lose them one after another. I've caught fish retrieving them any way imaginable, but burning them on the bottom has done the best for me. Bigs, smalls, and anything in between will chomp them.

There's a particular quarry I fish that I have a feeling these will be perfect for.

I have tried a 3/8 oz Dark Sleeper. Not a LOT, but I have given it a chance. Haven't had any takers. . . . yet. I'll throw it until I lose it, but so far not impressed, and with the amount of nasty, craggy rocky shoreline, it won't likely be too long before it finds it's final resting place.

Keitech Easy Shiners and Swing Impacts have been bite inducing fish-catchers from the first cast I ever took with one and have caught fish for me every trip out for the past four months (at least fifteen trips). I honestly thought they would be dink-attractors, but most fish I have caught have been in the 1.5 lb to 2.5 lb class, and others up to one that was 22" long (didn't have a scale to weigh that bad boy).

It's quite likely that I just haven't homed in on the best way to present the Dark Sleeper where I fish because I know they work for many others. I usually have a few odd things to try each trip so that I can possibly discover some new (to me) approaches because it's likely that fish that inhabit my spots will probably get tired of seeing those 3", 3.5" and 4" Electric Shad Swing Impacts sooner or later, LOL. So, the Dark Sleeper will be getting some more time in the rotation before I move on from them.

I used them quite a bit last year. It's simple. You fish grassy lakes with lots of vegatiation and mud/silt bottom? Dont bother. You fish primarily rocky gravel lakes with a touch of visibility? Then absolutely use them, because they git bit.

They are exactly the ned rig of swimbaits as @A-Jay said, as they were my break glass in case of no-fish lure when fishing my favorite gravel / rock lake.

You’ll probably be glad you did. Much more positive results than negative for me this past year on them. I’m on my third “order” of them

I was skeptical until I tried them last summer. caught quite a few fish by jigging it along deep weed edges, including a couple 5 pound plus fish. Their tail thumps away when the bait is falling. That is when you get most of the bites. They are a lot more durable than people think. after a couple fish their eyes fall off, but that does not seem to affect the fish biting.

They get bit for sure, but they seem to get snagged very very easily.  I keep looking around for a jighead that I can pair up with a 2.8" Fat Impact to try and make a cheaper version but the heads I am finding cost enough to make it pointless.

Some day I am going to try to tie a "V" weedguard on one made from super thick mono, but my tying skills are a bit lacking at the moment.

Its been an awesome bait for me.  Any bright color in stained water, 1/2oz has caught several fish for me.  Only issue is its a rock snag magnet.  I loose one every time I'm out.

Great baits. Swim it on the bottom. Stop and fish it like a jig for a few. Then start swimming again. Some days they want it only like a jig. I like the 3/4 to keep it on the bottom when swimming it. I found I do have to touch up the hook point every few fish. For the price I would prefer a higher quality hook.
