Mando_one Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 What’s going on guys, still learning about bass fishing.. reading on how pre spawn is about to happen. What colors are good use, what trailers, flipping or casting? Swim baits or trailers you recommend. 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted February 24, 2021 Super User Posted February 24, 2021 Where to start? First, I try to imitate a craw when the water starts to warm, this is more "pre-spawn" when they are starting to move shallow and feeding up. Reds, browns, yellow, etc. Lipless, squarebill, jig, chatterbait, etc. Once I feel like they have officially made the move to shallow water and are prepping beds and holding in place I will slow my presentation with soft plastics like creature baits, craws, tubes, etc. I will still use search baits, but one I locate a fish or two I will work that area a little longer than I would have previously. Lot of opinions on the subject. Some really good anglers on here. Pick and choose what information will work best for you. 1 Quote

TriStateBassin106 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 In regards to OP I would recommend reading up on how the pre spawn effects the bass and what basic lures to use, my recommendations are a jig and a lipless crankbait. Jig color depends on water quality but I would get a black n blue or green pumpkin. Also I would recommend fishing the senko. Below is another thread about senko fishing. Click on spring and you will learn a lot, Glenn and company put out a lot of great readings to assist anglers new to bass fishing. https://www.bassresource.com/seasonal-fishing-articles?field_category_target_id=42&items_per_page=20 1 Quote

FishinBuck07 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 Everyone that is a fisherman is still learning, no matter if they have fished for 50 years or 5 hours. When you stop learning something about the fish and the process of catching them it is time to give it up I believe. I learn every time out how much I stink at it!!! haha 1 Quote
