I bought my first baitcasting reel, a Pflueger President XT low profile.  I followed an online video to spool line through the level winder onto the spool. I tied an arbor knot and cinched the line onto the spool. When I filled the spool, I wound the end of my line past the level winder. Is there an easy way to get the end of my line back through the level winder?  I’d greatly appreciate any help offered. Thanks!

This. I mean literally. Just stick it through.

1. Pinch end of line between thumb and fore finger of dominant hand approximately 1 1/2" from end.

2. in a well lit well ventilated work space sight reel from back to front and insert the tag end though the level wind opening.

3. carefully grab the line with your other hand making sure not to release grip until securely held.

4. pull approximately 4 feet of line and continue to lace through rod guides making sure to start with guide closest to reel and insure not to miss any guides.

Put on your glasses and just stick it back through.

I've gotta say, there's a lot in life I didn't and still don't know how to do, but sticking things in holes never eluded me.

I bet a bit of thought went into it - not a bad little piece of fishing satire.

I enjoyed it...
