The video was kinda funny, Aaron was seriously trying to convince KVD why he should use the knot. Probably staged but funny none the less. When it comes to fishing everyone has their own personal repertoire of confusion! 1 Quote

I've never found a reason to change that. For the occasional spinner bait I'll use a Palomar. I like to keep things simple. I also like the Uni, and the Double Uni particularly for joining line to line. I can’t argue with that. I tie an IC most of the time with mono or YZH. It’s fast, easy and pretty darned strong. I’m surprised at times how much force is needed to break 6 lb Berkeley XL on a snag tied with an IC, and if doesn’t always break at the knot. I tie a Palomar on WR hooks as it’s also simple to tie on something smaller to pass through the loop. You da man getting spinnerbaits through that! Quote

I use an improved clinch on wire baits because it's faster to tie. My line is usually a little oversized, so I'm not worried about what knot is stronger, just that I tie a good, clean one. We sell donated tackle and boating items at local fishing flea markets and shows to raise money for a charity. I teach the "Maryland Crab" method of tying the uni for donations, just as quick or quicker than the clinch, I would post it, but I suck at videos and as you know uploading them also... Quote
BBuck Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 I use Palomar for almost everything except tying on leaders. I use Alberto or double uni knot for those. Quote
