Does he realize time is running out? LOL The last time I saw him, he was. I think he is hoping for just a few big bites to propel him. That is what I mean when I mentioned people often know when to switch or move, but they just dont, or wont. Easier said watching from the outside of course. 2 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted February 24, 2021 Super User Posted February 24, 2021 All it would take is a couple good bites at this point. 1 Quote
InfantryMP Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Was wondering when those red colored lipless, and cranks would be coming in to play. Montgomery just got him a 3lber off of what looked like a 3/4oz red lipless. Quote
jtharris3 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I'm pulling for KVD but, he is running out of time too! Quote
IrishJig Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 I have about 10 guys I root for, obviously some more than others, but I always have a guy or two to root for each round. Today was Andy Montgomery and KVD... 0 for 2 today. Quote

After the timer - KVD showed that he is STILL a class act with his little talk about having a bad day on the water. Hats off to him. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 24, 2021 Super User Posted February 24, 2021 Top 5 guys caught 26 scoreable bass. Bottom 5 guys caught 6. Tough sledding for them. A-Jay 1 Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Was it just me or did it look like KVD was getting emotional there at the end? Looked like he was about to cry. Tournaments can put a lot of stress on these guys. Quote

Even if he was joking, still not something I like hearing. Quote

I wouldn't care about a beer, shot of whiskey or even a smoke - threatening violence, even if joking, is not something I care to hear/see. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 25, 2021 Super User Posted February 25, 2021 After one period of Knockout Round - Group B Mr. Bryan Thrift is in the lead ~ Again I think he's led at the end of every round he's fish during this 2021 RedCrest derby. 11 scorable and creeping up on 30 lbs. The man is dialed in. I like his style. A-Jay 2 Quote

InfantryMP Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 This is his lake. He has more experience here than anyone I think. I think he will have the best chance at winning this tournament. I do not think Ott, Wheeler, or anyone has the confidence to win this event as Thrift does. Quote
GReb Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 This is Thrifts 4th professional tournament at Eufaula. His worst finish is 2nd...... 2 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted February 25, 2021 Super User Posted February 25, 2021 I get a kick out of Thrift having more scoreable fish than Omori (2nd) and Evers (3rd) combined Quote
Rpratt Posted February 25, 2021 Author Posted February 25, 2021 As bad as the fishing seems to be, I am actually nervous watching the Toro cut line as we come down to the last hour and a half. Sooooo close and so much could change with just one or two more scorable fish. Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted February 25, 2021 Super User Posted February 25, 2021 Michael Neal likes to wait till the end to go ahead and make the cut. Quote
IrishJig Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Watching Michael Neil talk about the fish he is seeing on his screen is crazy. He's playing a video game. I think its boring to watch the guys fish a smallmouth tournament where all they do is cruise around staring at their screen and then drop the bait when they see one, and I don't like having to watch them fish the banks, flats and docks for largemouth the same way. I'm officially in the camp that they should limit the types of electronics these guys have on their boats. Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted February 25, 2021 Super User Posted February 25, 2021 I think if Neal finds some fish off-shore early tomorrow, him and Thrift might have a shoot out. Quote
jtharris3 Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 11:04 am Thrift with a spinning rod in his hand and one fish! Not sure if this bodes well for him so far today. Quote
