Super User Spankey Posted February 18, 2021 Super User Posted February 18, 2021 Well I guess starting tomorrow you can get a Philly jersey dirt cheap at all the local greater Philly DICK’S. He’s moving on to the Colts. He’ll probably do alright there. And when the Birds play the Colts he’ll probably take it to them. Usually the way it goes. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 19, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 19, 2021 I think he'll probably do pretty well behind that Oline they have. He's way more mobile than Rivers is and they kept him clean enough to make it to the playoffs. If he could get his confidence back with Reich, he could get back to close to his near MVP season form. 3 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 19, 2021 Author Super User Posted February 19, 2021 I agree he’s not done. He’s been done in Philly. Sort of glad he is under his previous coaches wing. A player certainly does not want to go out under the circumstances he had this past season. Im not saying he was lucky to find a job there but most teams have a quarterback and many look to the draft. Jaylon Hurtz is gonna have his hands full in Philly. He likes to run. I like that in a quarterback. Keep from the sack, have an option. But teams will be all over that like white on rice and will be ineffective. Don’t see a quarterback who runs excessively being the answer. They have a long time family friend in to coach Hurtz. Will be a media frenzy this season. Philly sports radio is the best. They contradict each other and themselves all day long. Philly better bring back Nick Foles, should have never left him go. Foles can clean up after Hurtz’s mess. 5 hours ago, Bluebasser86 said: I think he'll probably do pretty well behind that Oline they have. Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2021 Super User Posted February 19, 2021 Carson Wentz away, now you Hurtz for QB? 2 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 19, 2021 Author Super User Posted February 19, 2021 Hurtz looks like the QB. I believe Zack Ertz is officially gone also. Zack may be beyond his peak but he’ll be able to help another team. Hope where ever he goes he comes back to take it to the birds. Quote
BassNJake Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Everytime I hear anything about the eagles, I'm reminded of the baby catching classic diss 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 19, 2021 Super User Posted February 19, 2021 That's a classic. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 19, 2021 Author Super User Posted February 19, 2021 I’m down here in birds country but not the true birds fan. I like ribbing them some. But over the years the birds have had some players that I’m a fan of. They are gonna have their hand full this season. Whole NFC East might have issues this year again. Certainly one of the stronger divisions of football could not get out of the way of each other this past season. Chump division. Blame it on Covid. Easiest thing to do. Quote

They been talking about an Indy or Chicago for a couple of weeks and maybe Foles would be in the deal. I’m a pot stirrer when it comes to the Eagles. Nick was like a god here. He still is in Philly. Super User J._Bricker Posted February 19, 2021 Super User Posted February 19, 2021 I think Wentz is now in a better position to be successful. The pieces are n place around him in Indy to resurrect his career and it didn’t cost the Colts too much capital in my opinion. As for Jalen Hurts liking to run, two other similar Philly quarterbacks come to mind. Randall Cunningham and Donovan McNabb were very good but never made it to a Super Bowl. Of course the talking heads are debating what my team is gonna do with Jimmy G. The draft will hopefully bring bring all us some clarity regarding respective our teams. 1 Quote

Super User Spankey Posted February 19, 2021 Author Super User Posted February 19, 2021 I’m a Ravens Fan and it will be a long time or close to never that Hurtz is a Lamar Jackson. Not sure if they will be on the schedule against each other this year. Season just ended maybe I should have waited a couple of months to start trash. But a lot of talk now about Wentz. 5 minutes ago, GaryH said: McNabb made it to the super bowl BUT lost the game and his cookies. That was great. But old Andy Reed is still hanging. A lot of trash talk when he went to KC and how that wasn’t his team. Not his players blah blah blah but it’s his team now. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted February 19, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 19, 2021 Hurts is one hell of a football player. I think he will do great things in Philly 1 Quote
Super User Spankey Posted February 19, 2021 Author Super User Posted February 19, 2021 He’ll do fine, his style with a rpo will be something different. They need help in receiving, o-line and a bit on defense. With a new head coach on board, different mentality, sort of a team in rebuilding they will get there. Him in at the end of the season was all good. Philly sports are about those Eagles. Not to take anything away from the Flyers, Phillies, Sixers or Union but Eagle talk is everyday regardless of time of year. Regardless of how well or bad things are going. At 3:00 in the am or 3:00 pm. Philly football has a passion. It’s for real. 1 Quote

I worked at PHL many years and listened to 610 WIP when I crossed into DE from MD. They bleed Green. They were ecstatic when Wentz was signed and when I left PHL for IAH in June 2019 they were still high on him. Now he’s a Colt. I wish no one luck there lol. Quote

When they signed him he was gonna be a savior and the next best thing since sliced bread. For the last few weeks he’s the biggest POS on the face of the earth. Never gonna make it. I hope he get the last laugh in Indy. WIP/WYSP has a lot of tool bags on Philly Sports Radio. I like Ike Reese the best. And Ron Jawarski. They seem to keep it real. Probably because they played the game. But you know sometimes a place (Philly) is just not right for you. Quote

I’m not a big hockey fan, but Al Morganti was top-notch on hockey stuff. Merrill Reese has that distinctive voice and calls a good game. Eskin is a tool lol. 1 Quote
