I’ve been using fluorocarbon line for a while and it’s time to respool all of my rods. I’m not excited about the cost of that with fluoro. So I’m gonna go back to Big Game. I used it for years with great luck. Just as good or even better that fluoro. I never worried about break off or line issues. With fluoro I’m always concerned about that little spot in my line I may have missed. Anyway I’m considering Big Game Solar Collector so my aging eyes can see it better. Do any of you guys know if this line works like the normal clear blue fluorescent lines where it stops glowing once it goes underwater? I don’t know how much I buy into the whole fish can see the line and it spooks them but a glowing green line is a whole different deal.

If they made Big Game in clear blue fluorescent , that would be my line of choice . I used the bright green on my carp and catfish rods and the carp didnt seem to be scared by it . I dont know how it behaves under water . I'm leery of it for bass . I have seen line shy bass .

I use it for catfishing.

Its stays bright green underwater too. You'll probably have to use a leader for bass fishing.

Even when catfishing, I use a clear mono leader with this line.

Its great for detecting bites though.

Thanks for the input. I hate using leaders so I’ll just stick with Big Game or P-Line CXX. P-Line CCX does come in clear/blue fluorescent but without a special light on the boat I can’t tell much difference between clear/blue line and regular clear line in lower light. When the sun hits the clear/blue it does stand out somewhat so that me an option during the day.

I use the P-Line CXX in clear blue fluorescent in 17# and 20# for Texas Rigs and jigs. It's really good line.

My advice would be to spend the money and purchase a good quality fluorocarbon line.  Currently I like Seagaur Invizx or Abrazx.    I think that Big Game line is cheap and I've been betrayed by cheap line enough.   I won't even use that stuff for mobiles or hanging picture frames.  I suppose something in the 25 or 30 pound class would work ok for cat fish, but I wouldn't know, I haven't spooled up my catfish gear for a few seasons now.

Big Game is known as strong and reliable.

For some people, 600yds for $10 rather than 200yds for $25 or 600yds for $60 is huge. Kind of like when people ask about (for example) $100 rods and people say "save up for X $150-$200 rod". That's not what was asked, not within the budget, and takes away time that could have spent fishing if they take the advice and believe they can't be on the water without something out of budget.

Sorry just irritates me to consistently see.

Big Game is inexpensive  not cheap . 17 lb test Trilene xl in clear blue fluorescent is only .015 inches in diameter and very strong .

The #1 key to consistently catching bass is between your ears not between the folds of your wallet.

i second this. I compared head to head tatsu 15 lb and big game 12 lb using different knots and big game won every bout. I repeated with 12 lb tatsu and 10 lb big game, same result. I stripped all my reels and went back to big game.

Just because it’s affordable doesn’t take away from its performance.

There are lines to fit everyone's preference.

Mine is Tatsu.
