My day-to-day is a park that is 1-2 minutes away from my house. Terrible fishery. Super bad fishing pressure and I am pretty sure the population ain't doing too hot numbers wise at least. However, when I do catch one there I always learn a whole ton in-between the many, many, skunks. I could definitely do a little more work and drive somewhere else, but there is something very intriguing about hammering out these super hard to catch fish. Makes me feel like KVD whenever I'm anywhere else that even slightly above average as far as fishing spots go haha.

Went to local lake today, about 20 minutes away and a very good fishery......not ready yet.Resized_20210227_143845(1).thumb.jpg.ce69ad4e5e3da7d7d7a5ab2b33e23e88.jpg

My boat is stored about 40 minutes from home which is about the closest state reservoir.

I have a 10 foot kayak in my garage. There’s three or four small lakes within 10 miles of my house

Out my back door.  The river ramp is 3 minutes, the lake is 7 minutes.

For bass three hour drive one way to fish with kayak.  For salt water five minutes to launch kayak.  I will be driving the six hours Sunday, can't wait.

I can go pond hopping in my very own neighborhood and that's all I ever do really, since I don't have a kayak or boat. I don't have much luck fishing lakes or larger public ponds from the banks. There are 5 ponds in my neighborhood ranging from slightly less than an acre to 2 acres in size with some good target spots like standing half submerged dead trees, a dock, pockets, drain pipes, brush piles, steep drop offs, etc. One of them is a prime spot for hollow body frogging. It gets almost 100% covered in that light green stuff on the surface when the weather warms up and gets loaded with slimy slop. I just haven't been brave enough to spend too much time there because it contains gators that stalk your bait and the banks look like snake territory. I've caught a two pounder out of it though.
