lunkerboss923 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Is it safe to say MHM = MHMF? I use a MHMF for Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits, Swim Jigs, Finesse Jigs, Squarebills, and Lipless crankbaits. I haven't found a single rod company other Falcon who has MHMF, everybody else MHM. What can you tell me about this? Quote

Not quite - MH/MF is a little faster in the tip than MH/M - think of it as between MH/F and MH/M I use MH/F for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, jigs. MH/MF for cranks, squarebills and lipless. 4 minutes ago, lunkerboss923 said: I haven't found a single rod company other Falcon who has MHMF, everybody else MHM. My Dobyns Fury 705CB is MH/MF - I'm sure there are other rods out there with the same power/action. 1 Quote

They call it a spinnerbait rod, but I use it for lots of other stuff. jj Quote

That there is no standard or consistency, so the labeling is a broad guideline at best. I'd bet that you can find a rod labeled MH Fast that actually fishes slower than the Falcon you mentioned above. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted February 13, 2021 Super User Posted February 13, 2021 My Tatula glass rods are listed as MH/R, but they are basically MH/MF rods. The MH/MF rods have a stiffer tip and you can get away with fishing a spinnerbait or chatterbait on them, where I wouldn't think about that on a MH/M rod but MH/M would be preferred for cranking. Of course, this is largely depending on the manufacturer, if they only make a MH/M it may be what others would call a MH/MF or vice versa as well. Quote
