Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?

I was on a spinnerbait kick 2 seasons ago. I bought like 40 of them different brands and styles. The best by a long shot for me where the zman in 1/2 ounce in bluegill and spot remover. Both small double willow.

The Vibra-Shaft's Patented Tapered Wire solves the issue of which wire to use. It's the same wire on the Vibra Wedge.

 

On the Wedge blade the front of the blade has a thickness of .015 & increases in diameter to .030 to the back of the blade. The result is an increase in vibration that causes the bait to rise in the water column.

As long as the blades are the right size and shape, color is what I'm looking for, and size is what I need, I don't much care about the brand.  I haven't noticed one to produce better than any other.  The basic styles are all that matter to me.

I typically buy War Eagle, Strike King, or Booyah.  You know, the brands you can sneak into the shopping cart at Walmart when you're out buying groceries with your wife.  It's all six and one-half dozen to me.

I've got War Eagle, Booyah, Strike King, Stanley, BPS, and Walmart spinnerbaits.  I don't really have a favorite.

I'm not brand loyal . If they have  the feel I like it . I cant explain what the feel is , they just feel right .

I think I have spinnerbaits from at least nine manufactures and they all have a place.  My favorite is the Dobyns Beast. The rest of the starters are Stanley, Revenge, War Eagle and Nichols.  I had one trip with a Z Man in a clear water finesse situation and it caught some small mouth.  The Zorro short arm is rarely spoken of.  I bought a couple Accent Wheeler River Special baits for this spring.  Lots of good products out there.

I have used many brands of spinnerbaits. My favorite all purpose sort of spinnerbaits are the War Eagles. I really like the River2Sea Ish Monroe Blings a lot too, they have a thinner wire which means that it can get bent but they put off a lot of vibration and flash and downright catch fish. The Terminator T1 titanium models were great but they no longer make them anymore but I still have a few left. Nichols Pulsators which are a compact size but work real well early and late in the season also deserve a mention.

 

I've had good luck with the Strike King KVDs which also are a thinner wire spinnerbait. I also have a few Booyahs, my problem with them is not a lack of vibration but the skirts that come with them seem to tear apart abnormally fast for whatever reason.

I like the Stanley spinnerbaits and the War Eagle Screaming Eagle. Spot Remover has been my the best color for me. All of mine are older inventory of War Eagle. I haven't bought any since Pradco bought them out so I don't know what has been changed with them.

Booyahs arent bad at all.  Them little pond magic SBs with a slider grub get crushed on rainy days spring-late fall.  The hook up ratio is 90% or better and I can feel them thump for sure.  

Ive really been taking a liking to Zorros Long arm Aggrivator the past few years, it looks simple and plain but it gets it done.  Its a little more compact then most SBs which  I think helps the hook up ratio.  The wire is rigid, but has enough flex to flatten out on the bite and still runs straight on the next cast.

I fish alot of different spinnerbaits...some strike kings...a few war eagles...lots of booyahs...couple sieberts....even some homemade frankenbaits. My favorite hands down is Nichols...by a pretty wide margin. They are more compact which I love...they have great colors...are very durable...and always run right.

I was killing some time at a BPS a couple of months ago, and there was an end cap with the Covert spinnerbaits display. I laughed out loud when I saw the "match the conditions" manual at the base of it. Reminded me of the windshield wiper and oil filter ones they used to have at the auto parts store, had to thumb through it, "let's see now, windy, overcast, 2 feet of vis, late prespawn...... booklet says"...

I would base that more towards colors of lures but you're right.

I know guys that like a particular lure, especially crankbaits, and buy every single color.

I had two at the start of last year . I caught so many bass with them that they both broke . The last one I didnt lose the blades so transferred them to a hand poured bait .After about thirty bass , I would then switch them to a new one . I made this switch several times , then one morning I tied a bad knot and launched the lure into the stratosphere . I like those Terminator blades .

I'm usually happy to share what is working for me, and I'm equally happy when that sharing is ignored...

I have to stop coming on here.  I saw spinnerbait in the title and that reminded me I haven't looked for Titanium spinners for awhile.  BAM, $43.00 spent.

 

My favorite spinnerbait of all time is an old Stanley 3/16th's ounce from way, way back.  With a twin tail grub trailer that I bought and stashed a bunch of too.  Small, bulky profile. The small mouth would beat them to death in a few hours.  So now, Titanium wired baits.
