Here in Florida I am partial to Hildebrandt spinnerbaits, especially the Okeechobee Special tandem in gold.   The flash from the gold plating on these lures is far superior to other spinnerbaits and the thin wire creates more vibration.  The wire line tie is open not twisted. This makes for even more vibration.  It also makes them weaker.   When I was fishing tournaments, I would throw them away every 2-3 fish.  The cost is high, but the results are worth the extra few bucks.

*I have heard of the Hildebrandt spinnerbaits - but not seen them locally in person before - I certainly like their blades !

The Terminator T1 titanium models were great but they no longer make them anymore but I still have a few left

Best model ever made IMO because of the durability. It’s the only one I know of that could stand the test of time to vicious pike strikes over and over. I’ve got about 5 left too, 2 in the original packaging never used.

I remember that.

Have to admit there's at least some chance those catches may have played a partial role in my decision to purchase said bait.

*Great comments with great choices to explore ! Other baits come and go but  my love affair with spinnerbaits never ends . But when it comes to choosing between a 3/8th oz. and 1/2 oz. spinnerbait weight - I either become totally paralyzed or chase my tail like a dog (lol !) Therefore spinnerbaits are my "Noah's Ark" purchase and I buy two of the same style & color in 3/8thth oz. and 1/2 oz.

My local tackle shop sells them.  You can order them on-line.  You can also buy the blades separately.  Their blades are far superior.   You can see the difference just by holding them in your hand.

In the gin clear waters that I fish, throw mainly 3/8 double willow in blue gill or white for smallmouth......switched to KVD 2 years ago and wish I'd done it sooner.

They're the stock blades on Booyah's Covert series as well!

War eagle Screaming eagle is my hands down favorite.  1/2 oz in a compact size.  I can bulk it up with a bigger trailer if needed but most of the time, grub or 2.75 ton3 inch trailer is all I use.  I have some Stanley's andi like them to.  The river2sea bling is a good one as well.  I dont care for the strike king or BPS spinner baits.

I love me some War Eagles 3/8 Blue Herring color seems to work great for me in Kansas.  Additional bonus our local Academy had them on clearance so at $2.85 a piece I bought about all they had so should be stocked up for awhile now.

You don't see Stanley or Terminator spinnerbaits too often in stores - those in the know will find their sources for them and know their reputation  ... I now like spinnerbaits with 3D eyes and jig head features as I think if nothing else - it makes a difference in my confidence (same goes for swim jigs) ... I find War Eagle spinnerbait hooks "small & odd" ; do not like the featureless heads or gold wire frames  much either (I do like the War Eagle buzz baits though  - go figure ?) ... With the exception of the rubber band skirt tie (much prefer wire tie skirts - so I modify all ) - I believe the Jason Christie Covert series the best currently - Booyah has a top notch distribution network so they are perhaps the best , easiest to find high quality spinnerbait going currently - you can not blow a Covert spinnerbait out either no matter how fast the retrieve (I tried to today and couldn't blow it out) .

I fish mostly Stanley spinnerbaits.  Great flash, good hooks, and fairly durable.  Also use War Eagle occasionally.  My spinnerbaits really take a beating.  I have to bend them back into shape every time I hook a decent fish.  The main reason is that the line slips out of the R-bend and up toward the blades.  That causes the pulling force to be between the hook and the blades, which of course straightens the wire out.  When I was young, spinnerbaits were sometimes called safety pin lures because there was a coiled circle, similar to a safety pin, to tie your line to vice the modern day R-bend.  Wish manufacturers would go back to the circle.

A few manufacturers still do make closed circle spinnerbaits if you prefer them. Picasso makes quite a lot of them, along with options to have it come with a thinner wire.

fav spinnerbaits

3/8oz frame Nichols

1/2oz+ frame booyah covert

Stanley’s intermixed

I also like some Zorro’s

Stanley Wedge Plus and Vibrashaft have been great for me this year fishing around cypress trees.  Great flash and they seem a little more durable that others.  Priced well too!

Stanley VibraShaft and Terminators (titanium shaft) are my confidence spinnerbaits.  They give out more vibration than most and that's important to me.

Strike King Tour Grade. Mostly double willow. I rarely fish a Colorado blade if it’s not tandem to a willow blade.

Booyah makes some of my favorite spinnerbaits, have caught a lot of big bass on them.

Almost 100 per cent of the time I throw a 1/2 ounce because it cast easier with more precision  than any other weight on the rod I chuck spinnerbaits  with . Thats how I choose   . If I want smaller blades then I put them on it .
