I am prompted to write this after reading an article stating Booyah was a good brand spinnerbait - "but don't expect to feel any thump or vibration from it on the retrieve"... So this statement leads me to believe : *There are vibrating wire frame spinnerbaits and non-vibrating wire frame spinnerbaits - which is your choice and which manufacturer / series do you prefer ?

I got to think whoever wrote that hasn't fished many Booyah spinnerbaits. They've got lots of baits that put out lots of vibration. I'd guess maybe they only fished willowleaf bladed baits that offer less vibration by design. Their double Colorado and tandem Colorado/Indian tux and tails spinnerbaits were my favorite baits for a couple years because their vibration calls in fish in the stained water I fish.

So yeah, I'm a fan of Booyah and War Eagle. I've also picked up a few Nichols lately and been really happy with them. One I tried that I was extremely disappointed with was an Omega Genesis TI. They looked great on TW and I know them to offer quality jigs, but I'd rather have a BPS Enticer spinnerbait than that thing.

My pick would be Santone Got 5 spinnerbaits.  I am with BlueBasser, whoever wrote that isn't paying attention to their gear while fishing, never really seen a spinnerbait that doesn't have a thump.

Since almost all of my lakes are gin clear, I’m

a big double willow guy. Vibration isn’t as much of a need as flash is. My favourite two baits by a country mile for years now have been a Strike King KVD Burner, and a Nichols Pulsator.

Thanks Bluebasser86 - I do not recall reading what blade configuration the Booyah spinnerbait had and I would agree that needs to be defined ... Moving on ,  War Eagle and Nichols should be in the spinner bait  upper tier and the Booyah made "Covert" series designed by Jason Christie comes in 72 configurations and is made with quality components . But at $9.00 ea. I won't be buying many of the 72 variations of the  Covert series . Ideally , there should be good choices less than $8.00 ea. so you can afford to buy a few different configurations ?

Only SB I’ve purchased in over 20 years is the Booyah tandem Counter Strike 3/8 oz. Made my own for years.

Here in Florida I am partial to Hildebrandt spinnerbaits, especially the Okeechobee Special tandem in gold.   The flash from the gold plating on these lures is far superior to other spinnerbaits and the thin wire creates more vibration.  The wire line tie is open not twisted. This makes for even more vibration.  It also makes them weaker.   When I was fishing tournaments, I would throw them away every 2-3 fish.  The cost is high, but the results are worth the extra few bucks.

War Eagle did something to the skirt that makes them look and feel cheap now. The hook is also smaller than other brands..(d**n I sound old)

Back to the post, the user must not be doing it right because you WANT to feel that slight variation during the retrieve if you don’t that means one of your blades is hung up or you know, it’s a fish

I like Strike-King. I have some older spinner-baits that have some crazy strong and flexible shafts (titanium?). Can't remember who made them as most of my lures are from the early to mid 1990's.

Uncle told me once, "lure manufacturers are more interested in catching fishermen than they are fish..."

There sure are a lot of lures out there these days...

I specialize in cheap spinnerbaits because I pull them over riprap and destroy them easily.

But the War Eagle Wake is different; I run it up high. It's great. It has thump, it has good hookup (important) and it lasts. I haven't gotten any of the new ones, so IDK if they've changed.                 jj

I'm with Jigfishn10 and A-Jay and think the Megastrike strikeback spinnerbaits, with the articulating hook, are well worth trying. They increase the chance of getting a hook up on the initial strike (better than a trailer) and they also definitely help hold the fish on the hook, including if the fish starts jumping.

I always have a leader on one or more of my rods (for pike) and so only use spinnerbaits that have a closed loop. In the past, I liked the booyah pikee for that reason.

Stanley's spinnerbaits are unmatched in water displacement. Moving more water with less effort makes a great spinnerbait.

Orginal Vibra Shaft.

Orginal Wedge

I picked up several Sieberts last year and have been very pleased.

My favorite for many, many years has been the plain old Booyah gold double willow chartreuse. I have also used white a lot and the other Booyah spinnerbaits with success and also have a few dozen War Eagle copper spinnerbaits left.

I really like the trailer keeper spike on the Booyahs.

I think if someone's not feeling the thump it's either a blade shape thing or a thick wire thing.  I've never fished a Booyah spinnerbait, so I could've say which in this case.  I've had some spinnerbaits that were designed to be burned back on retrieve that were on the heavy side with slender willow blades, and those had little thump (worked pretty well pre-spawn, but couldn't get a bite any other time, I'm sure they're rusting in a box somewhere).  The thick wire thing seems like a good idea except for, as some have mentioned, you can't tell when you're bit.  Some thinner wire provokes more strikes, I don't know whether that's true or not.

Second on the War Eagle. Might I add that their hooks are crazy sharp.

Strikebacks are well made and the tandem I post has a real nice subtle vibration to it. Wire size is about middle of the road where you can feel the rotating blades feeding back up your line.

I don't think that the slightly smaller hook on War Eagle spinner baits is a bad thing.   I still have a few of the titanium frame Terminator spinner baits left.   I always liked those because they ran straight the vast majority of the time.   When they didn't, nearly always it was because I had the trailer threaded on crooked.
