What do you prefer for an everyday carry...folder or fixed blade? What brand(s) do you like? I've carried a pocket knife or folder for as long as I can remember

I carry a Benchmade Mini Grip or Ontario RAT D2 in my back pocket every where I go. I have a fixed blade custom that I keep in my console.

I carry a folder for convenience. I don't care which brand it is or where it's made, as long as it says "Buck" and "Made in the U.S.A." on it.     ?                jj

I have been carrying a Gerber Silver Knight (folding) for many years.

It's one I gave to my Dad when I was 10.

My Mom gave it back to me after he passed.

It's a sweet little number that originally had some engraving on it.

A few decades of time in service and that has all but been worn away smooth.

Still holds a decent edge.

Stock photo below looks better than what rides in my pocket everyday.

@DitchPanda thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Well, besides my Leatherman I've got a Buck 55 in the opposite pocket.

I really like a one hand assisted opening folder. My CRKT Snicker clips in the coin pocket on my jeans. Small enough for EDC, big enough to handle most cutting jobs.

This blade is not spring loaded like some of my Kershaws but opens almost as well.

Al Mar Havana Clipper for cutting cigar caps and a useful tanto tip.

The Wenger Swiss Army offers the best cigar scissors ever.

Lost an heirloom or two with the everyday habits, now they are all put away in a nice wooden box

Back pocket??? Yikes I’ve never tried that. Seems like Barnum and Bailey level stuff

I carry either a Yellow Case peanut, Buck 55 or Prince.  I do not like to carry a large pocket knife.

I must not understand. I have been carrying one for a long time in my back pocket and I suppose I don't know what the issue is. I keep keys in my left front pocket and my phone and change in my right front pocket. Back pocket just seemed like the way to go.

Sitting on a knife screams danger to me. Everything In my wallet is constantly ruined from sitting on it, don’t want a blade anywhere near my a&$!

Do you think it is going to open itself up?

Who knows but I’m not risking it (front pocket) . If it’s anything like my credit cards or driver license the sides will be destroyed and one day you will be sitting on a blade

True, if I carried a $5 Wal-Mart knife I would probably feel the same. :)

Ha! Let’s see if anyone else carries a knife in their back pocket . Today was the first I’ve heard of it in 36 years

I choose from about 30 or so pocket knives of what I'm gonna carry for the day lol. Ranging from case, buck, moore maker, old timer and a few other brands. Now if I'm going out to the woods or such I bring a o'l bowie.

For an everyday knife I carry a three blade Case folding stockman pocket knife with bone handles. I used to carry Buck stockman knives but it seemed like they got to where they didn't hold an edge as good as they older ones did.

Those Ozark trail knives are a staple in my tackle bags. I have that exact green handle one. A Orange handle and a blue handle version as well. Great for cutting bait and line. They sharpen easy and hold an edge for a few sessions. If they get beat up, broken or lost, $5 will get you a brand new one.

You nailed it. I have to crawl under houses and climb on roofs, as well as get in an out of a truck 20+ times a day so I don’t want to beat up my good knives

I learned my lesson after leaving my expensive Buck knife behind on a shore excursion. My new motto was carry a cheap knife fishing with a bright colored handle that catches the eye. Hard to misplace or forget that way.

Oh and I agree with you on back pocket carry knives or anything really. Asking for rear or back problems that way for uneven sitting. Used to carry a fat bi-fold wallet. Ouch! Now it’s minimalist front pocket wallets for me.
