Super User A-Jay Posted February 11, 2021 Super User Posted February 11, 2021 Introducing the 7.6 liter, 600 HP, V12 Verado outboard. This one features an Automatic Two-Speed Transmission and Dual Contra-Rotating Propellers. Haven't seen a published weight yet but I still think this one might be a little too much for the Pro-V Bass . . . . https://www.mercurymarine.com/en/us/engines/outboard/verado/verado-600hp/#overview A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted February 11, 2021 Super User Posted February 11, 2021 Yep, fairly certain that won't make it on my rig either. ? A beauty for sure tho! 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted February 11, 2021 Super User Posted February 11, 2021 Oh come on now - I KNOW you're mulling over the possibility of making that beast work on the Pro-V. If nothing else, to scare Lynn with the hole-shot. 1 Quote
Michigander Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 That's going to get some pontoons really cooking when they can drop the excess weight of needing dual 300's. Quote
Junger Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Welp, I don't have to worry about this one...no chance it'll fit in my garage. It's a beauty though and will be looking forward to the on water specs. Quote
Deephaven Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Does the Big Tiller Handle fit on it? 1 Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted February 12, 2021 Super User Posted February 12, 2021 I want to be able to afford a boat with a pair of them someday! Lol 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 12, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 12, 2021 The link to the site says the it’s down for maintenance so I’m not sure if it gives the prices so I’ll post anyways. Quite affordable! ? Quote
OnthePotomac Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I saw a picture on another site of four of them hanging on the stern of something. Power Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 12, 2021 Super User Posted February 12, 2021 The steering in the lower unit is pretty cool. Take away the expensive steering unit on the transom, and they're actually saving a bit of coin, and they only take up 1" more space on the transom than 400 hp. The price of one 600 is also less than two 300s. How long before somebody straps on to a comp layup Bullet that weighs 400 lbs. less? These are for big boats, though that steering tech and two speed LU is new and could be interesting if it trickles down to lower HP motors. Quote

Yeah, this is cool tech and I'm very interested to see how it manifests in smaller motors. 1 Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted February 12, 2021 Super User Posted February 12, 2021 And it only weights 1260 pounds! 1 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted February 13, 2021 Super User Posted February 13, 2021 One of the test rigs had five on it. Power to weight ratio is the important stat. A little 2.5 L V-6 pushed my Bullet to almost 85 mph. I think most of these off shore boats do around 60, in much bigger waves. Quote
