Been really into this JDM stuff lately and Im in search of a good place to order lures from, however, the handful of sites I looked at are just so painful to navigate and mostly out of stock gear. I wanted to pick at some brains here and see where you guys pick up your JDM tackle and if there is any distributors in the US that have a great selection.

I know The Hook Up Tackle in AZ carries JDM but seems to be more on the Megabass brand. Looking for more than just Megabass. All insight and recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have no complaints in my dealings with Asian Portal Fishing, great prices and super fast shipping.

Jun at JapanTackle has the best English and is very helpful.

Asian Portal has the best prices+ free shipping, and toughest website to navigate.

I'll add Plat to the list - very pretty website, and a great place to follow for rods, though again, part of the trick is identifying what they have in stock.  They're very good about checking and ordering stock from manufacturers, and won't send you a purchase invoice until your order is squared away.  Plat also provides reel repair parts and schematics.

Hedgehog Studio is the place to find every reel tuning part, and always the fastest to ship out.

I've shopped in Japan for as long as the internet has been around.  Japan websites aiming to the US market is something relatively new, and because of Japan banking laws combined with the language barrier, at one time, you could only buy through brokers.  Noppin.com and ZenMarket are two good brokers if you want something from a Japan website that doesn't cater to USA shopping.  When I bought XUL and UL rockfish rods a dozen years ago, even though they came from a Rakuten store, Noppin shipping made it better and cheaper to order through them.

Hook Up Tackle has a lot of other JDM brands other than MB in case you want to buy in US.

Till now I've bought only from JLS in Japan but all the other shops mentioned above are great as well, there is poor stock now in JP in almost all the reputable sites.

A lot of great responses, appreciate it all! Ichibantackle is one I did not check out yet and I remember actually hearing about this one but must have forgotten to check it out.

Asian Portal I have actually ordered a scorpion mgl which is currently in transit as we speak so definitely excited for that.

Thehookuptackle has great overall selection on gear, just felt like it was more on the megabass side of things but I do see some other options as well.

I recently ventured into Amazon.co.jp to order something. The experience was similar, but I only ordered from Amazon Japan itself, not third party sellers. A friend of mine who lived in Japan for several years told me, the locals aren't quite fond of online shopping, mostly still prefer brick and mortar stores, and this is not limited to tackle shops. So I guess these online shops are mostly for foreigners. I wonder what kind of deals their local tackle shops would have.

Walking inside that place is like walking into a Toys-R-Us store as a kid

Im jealous, would love to walk in there, I follow their social media and looks amazing. I do plan on ordering some things from them so, it may not be local to me, but I always support local/small businesses.
