Gazz Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 If you’ve narrowed your search down to those 2 choices then I would definitely go with the new model Zodias. I have heard great things and have been considering picking one up myself. With that said, I would go Expride if you can swing it. I’m not sure exactly how it stacks up to the Dobyns but it is an amazing rod at that price point and the 7’2 MH/F can do so many different things. Quote
EzyEric Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 It would probably be the Zodias 72 MH. I have this rod and got it as an all purpose. Its definitely a bit stiffer than the average MH. Can't say exactly how it compares to the 734 as I've not felt one in a few years. I ended up prefering my Zodias for bottom contact baits. Other MHs I have which are much more parabolic I prefer for moving baits. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted February 10, 2021 Super User Posted February 10, 2021 That is asking a lot from one rod. I have the Zodias in 7' MH, 7'2 MH, 7'2 H and the Expride in 7'2 MH, 7'2 H and 7'3 XH. I would go Expride all day. For the range you are looking for (assuming most of it will be open water) I would go with the 7'2 H. Quote

I don't really have an answer, but I do have a question. If you want a rod VERY similar to the Dobyns, why not just buy the Dobyns? 2 1 Quote
