Other. Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I sold my old tandem perception kayak for $300 today. I'm going to use that money to buy a single kayak. I was looking at the Future Beach Kayaks at dicks. They have two fishing kayaks. A smaller sit in and a longer sit on in my price range. However once I found out that they also sell them in Toys R Us I am questioning how good those kayaks really are. I would like to know who makes a good kayak and what model is designed for fishing. kayakbill Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Don't get hung up on a kayak specifically for fishing buy one you like and rig it the way you want and try to demo before you buy. Quote
Boots Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 i fish from a kayak. i bought the manatee deluxe fishing package from ll bean and i love it so far. has 2 trolling rod holders, a front rod holder, a paddle holder, a storage hatch, and a anchor check out there site. Quote
Other. Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 That Mantee Delux kayak looks real nice and in my price range too. My only problem with it is that it does not look like it has enough storage. However it does include a cover, paddle, anchor, and a front rod holder. I'm going to consider that kayak. Quote
Boots Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 how much storage do you need? the cockpit is pretty big compared to other kayaks, and i just leave my tackle bag right in front of me and a water container right behind my seat which i can easily reach, i think it even has a cup holder attached but my water container is almost a whole gallon.
