RHuff Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 For the folks familiar with Chickamauga how far of a run is it from Dayton Boat Ramp to Sale Creek? Also, How far from Sale Creek on into Chester Frost/Dallas Island? I usually cruise around 30mph... Thanks in advance. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted February 7, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 7, 2021 I’m sure you’ve probably already done this but here they are. Dayton is fairly close to sale creek, good little ways from chester frost/Dallas bay (Chester frost is directly across the river from Harrison bay state park) . I would guess Dayton to sale creek would be 15 minutes or less and Dayton to CF might be more like 30+ minutes. If the wind is blowing it will suck bad. Also if you run the lake any distance in winter, it’s very easy to run aground 1 Quote
RHuff Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 I’m hoping the lake will be back up close to normal pool by then but I know it’s probably unlikely isn’t it Quote

RHuff Posted February 9, 2021 Author Posted February 9, 2021 ahhh.. So being I run a Triton Aluminum with a 50HP do you recommend me staying on the north end of the lake closest to Dayton? I wanted to try to get down as far as Possum Creek and fish Sale Creek and Grasshopper Creek as well ...... 1 Quote

When the wind blows upstream, which is about the only way it blows, it makes big waves Quote

I did it last April on a windy day from Grasshopper near Chester Frost it beat me up pretty good in a Tracker TXW 175. I was sore the next day like I had done a 100 crunches lol. ? Be safe and check weather.gov wind forecast day of trip ? 1 Quote
