I saw this yesterday, seems to happen almost every year. 
 

So if the ice island makes it’s way over here are the toys left on it free for the picking? ?

This very same incident occurred on Lake Superior near Duluth last week too. A record 66 people had to be “rescued” after the ice they were on drifted away from the mainland. Some of their gear is still out there too. Heading out there with a westerly wind is a big no no.

We lost an angler last week who tried to ice fish just days after the lakes iced over. It sounds a little fun, and I've got the equipment from my pre-boat owner days, but that stuff keeps me away.
