I would like to set up a utility box for my skirt tabs by color. I’m hoping they can be stored out of the original packaging. Can different shades of a color be stored together without bleeding into each other?

I think you should be o.k. If color bleed isn't an issue with the finished product  (skirt) then it shouldn't be a problem with storage.

I store all mine loose in a big Ziploc and have for a few years now...I've never noticed any color bleed.

Thank you! Was storing packs on a pegboard. But once one was opened it was a PIA trying to get partial tabs back in the package without balling them up.

I've got a couple storage block/cubes from Harbor Freight that are meant for small tools/parts that have little pull out trays that I keep my tabs in. I label the trays so I know what color is where.

I keep mine in Plano 3700 boxes.  Works great holds a lot and can be stacked any place.

I have noticed bleed from chartreuse skirts. Those go (and stay) together. I picked up a Washi Tape Storage box from Michael's and it's perfect for keeping my tabs organized.
