I have the opportunity to spend a few days at Dale Hollow State Resort Park in Burkesville KY. I can go in April May or June. While we will be staying in KY most of the lake is in TN. Any input on the best time to go and should I get a KY or TN license? I have a 14 foot boat with a 9.9 so I can't run all over the lake but I could motor short distances from the resort or trailer to other parts of the lake. Any suggestions on best areas of the lake to fish? Thanks for any input.

Well there’s fish all over the lake so I would just focus on where you are staying to get more time with a hook in the water. The fish should be in 10-12 foot of water at some point during April and may, on into June you hear more about people night fishing with football jigs on DH

Any of the 3 months you are going will be good. I live in KY and when I fish Dale I usually stay on the KY side. 90% of the lake is in TN but as was mentioned above, all of the lake holds fish. Wisdom Dock in Albany, KY has some awesome lodging right on the dock. You can rent floating hotel rooms and pull your boat right up to your door. That’s where I always stay. They should be up fairly shallow and however you like to fish should work. Dale Hs some awesome Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted bass fishing and that’s one of my favorite things about Dale, you never know what species you are going to catch.

Do TN and KY have a reciprocal license agreement on that lake like TN, AL, and MS have on the TN river?

That is NOT the case on the Tennessee River.

According to the link below (AL Dept of Conservation and Natural Resources) a license from AL, TN, or MS work on various parts of Pickwick.

Unfortunately for @roadwarrior a TN license won't work in the Florence-Muscle Shoals area, but I think it will down to Yellow Creek in MS, and down to Bear Creek in AL. It looks like an AL license will work all the way to the dam on the TN side.

I have no idea about Dale Hollow. I was just wondering if they might have some kind of agreement like that.

Unfortunately it won't help for you on Wilson either @TnRiver46.
