reb67 Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Hey guys I haven't been active on here for awhile. The last few months have been a little crazy but that another story for another time. The wife and I are planning to go to my daughters in Florida for vacation in two weeks. This will be our third attempt in the last six months. Question is has anyone fished Blue Cypress Lake? That lake is only 35 minutes from my daughter's house and I'm thinking about trying to slip in a day or two of fishing. I have plans of fishing The Stick Marsh with a guy that I have been chatting with over the last few months. But I may try and get in another lake while I'm there. Any advice is appreciated. Quote
SC53 Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Always been a tough place for me. Lots of mudfish though. Lake is surrounded by cypress trees with emergent grass in places. MLF fished it in the world championship that Hackney won. Might try to find the video and watch it. Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted February 5, 2021 Super User Posted February 5, 2021 These 2 live in N Florida not too far from me and did well there... Quote
Ski Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 The new "Head waters lake" is open this year and is the hottest lake in Fl right now. You will pass the ramp on your left as you head down the 6 mile rd to the stick marsh, I would definitely fish that lake vs Cypress. Lots of quality and quantity. R/Chris 1 Quote
reb67 Posted February 5, 2021 Author Posted February 5, 2021 Yeah a couple of my buddy's are heading down there to fish Head Waters lake for a few days. The guy that I'm supposed to hook up with doesn't want to fish Head Waters. He said it's to crowded right now with all the people coming in from all over to fish it. Quote
SC53 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 Your buddy would be correct Reb. It’s a zoo right now and will be for months Quote
