Just loaded mine up for a trip to Okeechobee for week.  Leaving tomorrow morning.  It’s the only place in the US above freezing.?

Haha! Somehow East TN avoided all inclement weather, it was rough anywhere to the west

catch a big one on the big O!

Well I finally did get to clean this new rig up.

Past few days have been weather friendly so I spent them bringing the AT4 up to speed.

Feels good to get a couple coats of wax on it as well as cleaning & conditioning the interior.

Used a lot of micro fiber.

Truck looks great.

You don't happen to have a Griot's long throw buffer do you?  Have a really good friend with a Flex 3401...but he moved a long ways away and used to live right next door.  Going to pick up my own machine to go with the orbital I have and am leaning towards the Griot's G21.  Figured with all the GG product you might have one.

Thanks ~  I have an older model G9.

Had a Garage Queen  LS2 GTO that I buffed out almost as much as I drove.

Loved it though.

Sold it in 2016 to help fund the Lund.

I miss it - on & off.

Sure was fun to drive - loved the short throw stick.

So Andy, how do you like the new rig vs your 2018 truck.?

My last 3 or 4 trucks have all been Sierra Denali Pick ups; almost identical in fact.

All had the 6.2L V8 motor, and were loaded with just about every option I could get

including the after market cat back dual exhaust.

I kept getting them because I REALLY liked them.

I don't put a ton of miles on my vehicles but when I ride, I want to enjoy it.

Those Denali's ride great, are super comfortable, and are very capable of handling the somewhat challenging (four season) terrain that these northern Michigan roads can offer.

Lastly the past two Sierra's towed my rig like a champ !

So what's not to like - The Chrome . . .

Denali's have quite a bit and it corrodes like crazy after one winter.

Nothing I could do about it.

Seems like a little thing but the shiny shiny thing is not my style,

I just wanted a great truck that did what I needed.

Enter the new AT4 - So far this truck is Everything I had before and So Much More !

First off - almost zero chrome - so let's get that out of the way right off the bat -

The interior is less 'shiny' and more like a Truck, than a Caddy, - Love that.

In every other way it is as good or better than the Denali's IMO.

There's a 2 inch lift on this one, so the  ground clearance & visibility is a bit better.

And then there's the Motor - 462 hp with the Cold Air induction and the upgraded performance exhaust.  This thing just wants to go !

Haven't towed with it yet, but it's coming.  Expect that to be very good as well.

So Yea, if you couldn't tell already, I'm pretty happy with this choice.

Thanks for asking.

If you're on the fence about this one I say just drive one - that will finish you right off . . .

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

:happy-112:

Awesome truck Ajay and Wow....serious HP.

I'm not brand biased and have owned several Chevy, Dodge and Ford, enjoyed each one.

This is my latest truck, Fords new 7.3 gas engine with 10 spd transmission.

Still getting acclimated to all the new tech.

Looks fantastic.  I’m surprised you have a problem with your chrome rusting with the coatings you put on your truck.  I was a little disappointed with my 2016 High Country when the “chrome” side steps started peeling.?  First the drivers side did it then right at the end of my warranty the passenger side did it.  Both were replaced at no charge.  The things that bothered me were 1. The side steps were chrome coated plastic and the peeling looked like it was due to applying the chrome over a surface that had some type of contaminant on it and it didn’t bond.  Since being replaced both are holding up fine.  My 2004 had real chrome tube factory sidesteps and they made it through Virginia winters and even beach surfishing for 2 years in Florida.  Did you get the frame plugs that go behind your rear tires on the frame?  Another rust spot.

 Thanks -

No plugs for this guy.

The 'road salt action' up this way is pretty rugged.

Might not compete with the being right on the beach (done that too) but it's pretty close.

And it's full blown use runs a full 6 months most years.

If I learned anything working on the Atlantic for 3 decades,

it's that there's no stopping H2O, so it's much better to just let it flow.

And then deal with whatever happens after that best I can.

Finally, all of that is what drives the trade in every three years.

Sort of a PIA at times, but I'm willing to go this route rather than deal with the fallout of the corrosion.

I tend to keep my trucks a lot longer (2004-2016 for my last run) so I look for ways to try and head off killer problems like rust.  I get it that Michigan uses a lot of salt and understand why you trade off quicker.  The plugs I am talking about are for the open round tube through the frame at the rear tires.  Water pools in there.  I coated the inside of the tube and then used the plugs.  I like your solution better.?

I think you will find towing with the HP your new truck has will be a dream.

I'm keeping my old trusty 2003 Duramax, has the HP to play with some of the new so called high HP cars out there, not that I street race, but they do try and test me now and then..lol

My truck tech has last years Denali, he also loves his.

Oh re: my towing comment, I had to tow a friends 21' Ranger some years ago, and even on some steep grades, it felt like there was nothing being towed.

Anywho, enjoy your truck, looks great, must say, I am a bit jealous.

Thanks GM.  My Escalade plasti-chrome is bubbling off everywhere.  Disgusting that a manufacturer based in MI lets this happen.

Crazy what some real power and brakes do for towing.  Nice that GMC stepped up in that domain.  If it isn't enough, there are solutions.  I added a Whipple, some Wilwoods and a bunch of other go fast parts.  775hp tows rather well and amusingly gets better mpg doing it than stock.  You are going to love that truck!

How do you like the "Godzilla" motor? I've got the 6.2 gasser in my 2017. Don't know that I'd need more but the dyno results on the 7.3 are impressive.

The 7.3 impresses every time I tow but the the 6.2 has been proven over time.

Enjoy your truck ?

I have. Just about to turn 50K trouble free miles. More than I can say about the Tundra I had prior to this and more than I can say about my son's 2018 F150 Ecoboost.

I'm good like that. I bought the Bronco for her birthday one year. It was a stripped down model that was 5 years old with 15,000 miles on it. I paid 4 grand. If that truck was still around today and in good condition, it would be worth double that.

I've seen a couple of the new Bronco's driving around. Not impressed at all.

My sister in-law just got a Bronco sport and I’m not impressed either. They’re tiny!

Must be more of a common problem than I thought.  One of my side steps was replaced under warranty and when the second started doing it, the dealership replaced it under “goodwill” since it was out of warranty.  Might be worth a try for you.
