Heading out to Briery this week in Farmville, VA. Has anyone seen the lake since we got snow? Just wanting to know if there's ice on the lake or not. Looking at Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of this week to go. Thanks in advance!

I live in VA and it's still snowing here.

Think you'll be fine as it's a little colder up here and none of our local lakes are frozen.

FYI, Thursday looks real good weather wise.

Good luck and report back.

Travis, after Tuesday's snow it should be clear until the weekend when another storm is headed our way.

Check the WxRisk.com Facebook page and subscribe to Dave's weather predictions as he is 99% correct as opposed to the local radio and TV weathermen. You can usually plan your activities based on Dave's weather forecasts.

Be safe out there and "hi" to your dad for me.

We actually went to Sandy. There was thin sheets of ice on the water when we got there... and most was melted by noon. Water temps were in the mid/upper 30's and very stained. We threw the kitchen sink at them (jerkbait, crankbait, jig, swimbaits, ned rig, etc) and got no bass. Saw 2 other boats and no one was catching them. Ended up with one catfish on the a-rig from my buddy. Very tough day. Makes the good days so much more worth it!!
