Plopperwhopper Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 I need to stock up on a few more hollow body frogs. I typically get the booyah pad crashers and they work fine. But I was looking at some frogs with the paddletail legs, I’ve never used any. Do they still work well in cover or are they mostly for more open water like a buzz bait? Any recommendations on the best ones to try? Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted January 31, 2021 Super User Posted January 31, 2021 I use the Pad Crasher and the Stanley Ribbit. I use the Ribbit both on top of weeds and like a buzzbait on open water, but the Pad Crasher only on weeds. They seem to work about the same where I fish. As in all things, YMMV. jj Quote

Ive got a Scum Frog Bigfoot which is a hollow body frog with kicker legs. Ive dragged it right along the edges of weed lines and for no takers. Tied in a trusty Pad Crasher and got a bite. If you want a frog that makes alot of commotion Booyah makes the Toad Runner with a big boot tail that really moves some water around. Quote
@reelChris Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 The Lunkerhunt pocket frog looks good and will catch fish, but short strikes rip the legs off and then they don't run right. Quote
PotatoLake Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Here’s a good thread. Made some of my own. Caught a few. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 4, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 4, 2021 So are you looking for the ones with the double paddle "feet", similar to a toad, or the ones with the "buzzing", tails like a soft whopper plopper tail? Quote
