If your on a budget, the Dobyns Fury 806 will handle the 68's and the 8" hudd's. The 10" hudd would weigh to much for that rod.

Budget rod for those - Diawa DXSB. Heavy is rated 2oz to 8oz, X-Heavy 3oz to 10oz.

If you havent thrown swimbaits before maybe start with the 68 and 8 and see if you really want to throw the 10. Its a brick.

IROD Gen 3 8’ XHeavy swimbait rod will perform perfectly with the swimbait from 2 oz to 7 oz.

not familiar with this rod, where is it sold?

Does anyone know if the Dobyns 867 cover both? is is it not strong enoug enough for the 8in?

how about the 908?? too much rod for the 68?

TW has IROD look under, swimbaits, rods, IROD then 7’9” XL, scroll to 8’

Dobyns equal XP 8’ 807mag is a little faster tip about $5O higher price and has longer fore grip. You can easily use 68 Hudds to 7 oz swimmers with 25 lb Sunline Armillo Nylon line.

806 and 867 are great treble bait rods and you would be okay throwing an 8" Hudd on them (no problem with a 68). If you're primarily going to be throwing large jig hook swimbaits like the 8" or 10" Hudd then you'd be better off with the 807. If you're looking for one rod that does well throwing big soft baits like Hudds and larger glides then the IMX Pro 966 or MB Destroyer Onager are worth considering.

I like my Fury 806 for both these baits, handles the 8" Hudd well, and does a great job with larger heavier glide baits.  I use it for larger blue gill baits like the  Megabass Vitalion 190, and the Jackall gigantral that is no longer available. If your really interested in the Hudd 68 I prefer to use my Fury 795. I find these two rods cover everything I want to do, if I had known I would enjoy swim bait fishing as much as I do I would have stepped up to the same models in the Champion XP line up.  I think the Fury will do fine but it would be great to have a little lighter rod for this. Good luck either way.
